The layout currently features an enormous street-facing room on one end, followed by two long, narrow rooms and, closing out the other end, a compact kitchen and a small windowed bathroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s in a 15-unit, five-story classical-style brownstone built in 1891. The building \u201cis mainly owner-occupied and not investor-friendly, yet does feature a liberal sublet policy,\u201d according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/streeteasy.com\/building\/53-west-11-street-new_york#tab_building_detail=2\">a StreetEasy description<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"inline-slideshow\" artist couple who vacated the unit a few years ago, after inhabiting it since the 1960s \u2014 left a number of personal touches in the apartment, including a painted-on zebra-print rug and floral decals on the kitchen ceiling, bathroom door and armoire. Wall told Curbed they also left the unit packed with their various possessions, including two 6-foot stuffed lions.<\/p>\n<p>The unit is in need of a gut renovation, or as <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/streeteasy.com\/building\/53-west-11-street-new_york\/5w?ca\">the listing<\/a> frames it, owners should be ready to \u201cbring your vision and creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The building <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be mostly made up of one bedrooms, some rentals in the $3,000-a-month range and some sales.
