“#Pitch Perfect: Peacock Orders Comedy Series<\/a> Starring Adam Devine<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Pitch Perfect<\/i> is making a return with a new series headed to Peacock. Adam Devine (right) will reprise his role from the first two films of the trilogy. The series will find his character, Bumper Allen, trying to revive his music career with a trip<\/a> to Germany after one of his songs becomes a hit there.<\/p>\n

Peacock revealed more about the series order in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cBuckle up, Pitches! Peacock announced today a straight-to-series order for Pitch Perfect<\/i> from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, based on the Universal Pictures film series that ignited a cultural phenomenon.<\/p>\n

Over three films, the Pitch Perfect<\/i> franchise,\u202fwhich was inspired by the Mickey Rapkin book of the same name,\u202fcollectively grossed nearly $600 million at the worldwide box office and inspired a generation with its celebration of unapologetic women, irresistible music and outrageous humor.<\/p>\n

The comedy series will be executive produced by Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman (Brownstone Productions), Paul Brooks and Scott Neimeyer (Gold Circle Films), as well as Adam Devine and Megan Amram. \u202fBrownstone and Gold Circle produced all three films in the \u201cPitch Perfect\u201d\u202fseries and Banks directed \u201cPitch Perfect 2,\u201d which was the highest opening weekend for a musical in history, the biggest opener for a first-time feature film director, and the second-largest opening for a female director.<\/p>\n

Devine, who app<\/a>eared in the first two installments of the film franchise, is set to star and reprise his role as Bumper Allen, the vocal villain whom we love to loathe.<\/p>\n

In the new series for Peacock, several years after we last saw him in Pitch Perfect<\/i>, Adam Devine\u2019s Bumper Allen moves to Germany\u202fto revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin.<\/p>\n

This series order comes on the heels of two other collaborations between NBCUniversal\u2019s television and film studios, including upcoming adaptations of Universal Pictures\u2019 Academy Award(R)-nominated Field of Dreams<\/i> (Michael Schur to write and executive produce) and hit comedy Ted<\/i> (Seth MacFarlane to executive produce), both of which are also set for Peacock.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A premiere date and additional cast for the series will be announced at a later time.<\/p>\n
