E-mails reveal \u2018lie\u2019 on Trump<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Jake Sullivan, national security adviser in the Biden administration, may be guilty of perjury related to the Hillary Clinton campaign\u2019s dirty tricks against Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Michael A. Sussmann, a partner at Perkins Coie, a law firm representing the Hillary campaign and the Democratic National Committee, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of making false statements to the FBI about his clients and their motives behind planting the rumor, at the highest levels of the FBI, of a secret Trump-Russia server.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment states that Sussmann, as well as the cyber experts recruited for the operation, \u201ccoordinated with representatives and agents of the Clinton campaign with regard to the data and written materials that Sussmann gave to the FBI and the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of those campaign agents was Sullivan, according to e-mails special counsel John Durham obtained. On Sept. 15, 2016 \u2014 just four days before Sussmann handed off the materials to the FBI \u2014 Marc Elias, Sussmann\u2019s law partner and fellow Democratic Party operative, \u201cexchanged emails with the Clinton campaign\u2019s foreign policy adviser concerning the Russian bank allegations,\u201d as well as with other top campaign officials, the indictment states.<\/p>\n<p>Sources close to the case confirmed the \u201cforeign policy adviser\u201d referenced by title is Sullivan.<\/p>\n<p>They say Sullivan was briefed on the development of the opposition-research materials \u2014 which tried to allege that a \u201csecret\u201d server of the Trump organization was communicating with Russia\u2019s Alfa Bank. Sussmann was accused of a single count of making a false statement to federal authorities on Sept. 19, 2016. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Perkins Coie<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cMarc [Elias] . . . would occasionally give us updates on the opposition research they were conducting, but I didn\u2019t know what the nature of that effort was \u2014 inside effort, outside effort, who was funding it, who was doing it, anything like that,\u201d Sullivan stated under oath.<\/p>\n<p>Sullivan also testified he didn\u2019t know that Perkins Coie, the law firm where Elias and Sussmann were partners, was working for the Clinton campaign until October 2017, when it was reported in the media as part of stories revealing the campaign\u2019s contract with Fusion, which also produced the so-called Steele dossier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sullivan maintained he didn\u2019t even know that the politically prominent Elias worked for Perkins Coie, a well-known Democratic law firm. Major media stories from 2016 routinely identified Elias as \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> counsel for the Clinton campaign\u201d and a \u201cpartner at Perkins Coie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be honest with you, Marc wears a tremendous number of hats, so I wasn\u2019t sure who he was representing,\u201d Sullivan testified. \u201cI sort of thought he was, you know, just talking to us as, you know, a fellow <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>er in this \u2014 in this campaign effort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although he acknowledged knowing Elias and his partner were marshaling opposition researchers for a campaign project targeting Trump, Sullivan insisted, \u201cThey didn\u2019t do something with it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In truth, they used the research to instigate a full-blown investigation at the FBI and seed a number of stories in the Washington media, which Elias discussed in e-mails.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/jake-sullivan-perjury-question-829.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Perkins Coie attorney Marc Elias\" class=\"wp-image-19562972\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/jake-sullivan-perjury-question-829.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/jake-sullivan-perjury-question-829.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/jake-sullivan-perjury-question-829.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Jake Sullivan claims he was unaware of Marc Elias\u2019 major role in the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign.<br \/>\n<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In fact, on the eve of the election, Sullivan put out a written campaign statement that claimed Trump and the Russians had set up a \u201csecret hotline\u201d through Alfa Bank and he suggested \u201cfederal authorities\u201d were investigating \u201cthis direct connection between Trump and Russia.\u201d He portrayed the shocking discovery as the work of independent experts \u2014 \u201ccomputer scientists\u201d \u2014 without disclosing their attachment to the Clinton campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis could be the most direct link yet between Donald Trump and Moscow,\u201d Sullivan said.<\/p>\n<p>Lying to Congress is a felony.
