\nThe latest documentary about Britney Spears<\/strong>\u2019 life reveals she may have been under more control for the past 13 years under the conservatorship than her supporters may have realized.<\/p>\n

In the sequel film from The New York Times<\/em>, Controlling Britney Spears<\/em>, the pop sensation was allegedly surveilled by a security firm, Black Box Security<\/strong>, that was hired by her father, Jamie Spears<\/strong>. Alex Vlasov<\/strong>, a former member of the security team, claimed that the company continuously monitored her communications, including her text messages, phone calls, and browsing history. The ex-bodyguard even recalled when he was once asked to place \u201cparental controls\u201d on Britney\u2019s iPhone<\/strong>, explaining:<\/p>\n

\u201c[My boss] Edan [Yemini] app<\/a>roached me and asked me, \u2018Is there any monitoring services for an iPhone that you are aware of?\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018What do you mean?\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018Well, parental controls. Is there any way you can put parental controls on an iPhone?\u2019 And that\u2019s when Edan explained to me that Britney\u2019s communication is monitored for her own security and protection.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This obviously concerned Vlasov who immedia<\/a>tely asked \u201cabout the legality\u201d of tracking the singer\u2019s cell, to which his boss Edan Yemini<\/strong> claimed it all was at the time:<\/p>\n

\u201c[Edan] said, \u2018Yes, the court is aware of this. Britney\u2019s lawyer is aware of this. This is for her safety. It\u2019s for her protection.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Robin Greenhill<\/strong>, an employee of Britney\u2019s management team at Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group<\/strong>, then allegedly came up with the idea of getting an iPad<\/strong> and signing in to the same iCloud account used on Spears\u2019 phone to monitor all of her activity under the guise of keeping her safe. WTF?!?! He shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir reason for monitoring was looking for bad influence, looking for potential illegal activity that might happen, but they would also monitor conversations with her friends, with her mom, with her lawyer Sam Ingham. If there\u2019s anybody that should be off limits, it should be Britney\u2019s lawyer.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As the documentary noted, it is unclear whether the court actually knew or approved of the text surveillance, which could be a violation of the law. Britney\u2019s life was so heavily monitored to the point that the firm even secretly recorded audio from her bedroom, capturing her interactions with everyone from her children to her boyfriend. In response to the claims, a lawyer representing Jamie not-so-shockingly denied everything to the NYTs<\/em>, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of his actions were well within the parameters of the authority conferred upon him by the court. His actions were done with the knowledge and consent of Britney, her court-appointed attorney, and\/or the court. Jamie\u2019s record as conservator \u2014 and the court\u2019s approval of his actions \u2014 speak for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Meanwhile, Britney\u2019s attorney Matthew Rosengart<\/strong> gave a statement to the publication on the worker\u2019s disturbing claims and promised to \u201cfully and aggressively investigate\u201d the concerns. He added:<\/p>\n

\u201cIntercepting or monitoring Britney\u2019s communications, especially sacrosanct attorney-client communications, represents a shameful and shocking violation of her privacy rights and civil liberties. Placing a listening device in Britney\u2019s bedroom would be particularly disgraceful.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
