\n They\u2019re wrinkled as hell, and they\u2019re not going to take it anymore!<\/p>\n

New Yorkers are already flooding the phonelines of the city\u2019s Botox purveyors \u2014 and, as doctors told The Post, it\u2019s going to be a busy summer now that they\u2019re opening their doors.<\/p>\n

While the Manhattan office of Dr. Jon Turk\u2019s plastic surgery practice remains closed, he recently opened his Woodbury location and been slammed with requests for fillers, Botox, rhinoplasties and facelifts.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a massive backlog and we are working extended hours right now,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople are doing more at one time because they don\u2019t want to come back as often. I\u2019m right off the LIE, so people leaving the city for the Hamptons make a stop on their way out East.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s enough to make Dr. Howard Sobel, whose office for aesthetic dermatology is on Park Avenue, brace for the crush when he reopens \u2014 hopefully, he said \u2014\u00a0 this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce we were able to see a tentative schedule from Gov. Cuomo for doctors to re-open, my office sent out an email to all existing patients,\u201d Sobel said. \u201cWithin three hours, we were fully booked through July.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not that clients ever stopped calling \u2014 or begging \u2014 during the pandemic. \u201cThere were certainly people [during lockdown] who suggested I would be performing an essential service if I dropped by their house and got it done,\u201d said Turk, who turned them all down. \u201cAnd one even suggested a Botox party.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople started calling in real persistent numbers about three weeks into the lockdown,\u201d said Sobel. \u201cFriends wanted to know how they could meet me and get Botox and fillers and, \u2018Of course, [they] wouldn\u2019t tell anyone.\u2019 I explained that not even my family members could secretly get Botox, fillers, or anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some people refused to take no for an answer the first time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had one high-profile patient who \u2026 proposed that she dock her boat in my backyard in Watermill where I could treat her in the privacy of her boat,\u201d said Sobel. \u201cI explained that it was illegal and dangerous to do. She only agreed to wait when I explained that I couldn\u2019t do a good job on a rocking boat and she could get misplaced Botox or filler.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others tried to ply him with gifts. \u201cI had several patients send me bottles of wine or food during the lockdown and, of course, the polite thing to do was to call them and thank them,\u201d Sobel said. But when he did, there was usually an ulterior motive \u2014 asking for Botox. \u201cThey would offer to send an Uber to come and get me or meet me on their outside porch or the park bench.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the initial wave of Botox warriors storming the doors are on-air personalities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first group of patients are TV people \u2014 they kind of almost make an argument it\u2019s essential for what they do,\u201d said Turk, whose wife, Carolyn Gusoff, is a reporter for WCBS. \u201cThey came from Connecticut, New Jersey and the city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Things may not be moving as fast as the dried-up masses would like \u2014 \u201cbecause we need to stagger [app<\/a>ointments] and clean, we are only seeing 15 patients at most every day,\u201d Turk added \u2014 but the doctors are doing what they can to make sure New Yorkers\u2019 faces will soon be as smooth as a baby\u2019s butt.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would normally take three to four weeks of vacation during the summer,\u201d said Turk. \u201cBut this summer I will be lucky to get three to four days.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
