themselves<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Facebook released another defense of its subsidiary Instagram Sunday, insisting that the popular photo-sharing <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a> makes teen girls feel better about themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s rebuttal comes after a damning investigation found that Facebook knew of the platform\u2019s toxic impact on young people \u2014 and failed to fix it. <\/p>\n<p>In a blog post published Sunday evening, Facebook\u2019s vice president of research Pratiti Raychoudhury responded to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/facebook-knows-instagram-is-toxic-for-teen-girls-company-documents-show-11631620739?mod=article_inline\">Wall Street Journal investigation<\/a> that found, among other things, that Facebook\u2019s internal research had shown the app makes \u201cbody image issues worse for one in three teen girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Raychoudhury did not confront many of the Journal\u2019s assertions, including that teens said they feel addicted to Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, she argued that the Journal\u2019s characterization of Facebook\u2019s findings on how Instagram affects body image issues in teen girls was without context and \u201csimply not accurate\u201d \u2014 even though the report quoted directly from a leaked internal document. <\/p>\n<figure kinds of hard moments and issues teenagers have always faced,\u201d Raychoudhury wrote. <\/p>\n<p>The internal report cited by the Journal covered 12 areas, including loneliness, anxiety, sadness and eating issues, Raychoudhury said, adding that, \u201cbody image was the only area where teen girls who reported struggling with the issue said Instagram made it worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even when it comes to body image, she claimed, \u201cthe majority of teenage girls who experienced body image issues still reported Instagram either made it better or had no impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure only 40 teens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, Facebook has used the internal research reported by the Journal to \u201cinform changes to our apps and provide resources for the people who use them,\u201d Raychoudhury noted.<\/p>\n<p>The online rebuttal comes days before Facebook\u2019s global head of safety, Antigone Davis, is\u00a0expected to appear before the Senate Commerce Subcommittee\u00a0on Thursday.
