1.5% after briefly breaching the psychologically important level in the previous session.<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_yields_doing\"><\/span>What are yields doing?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<ul class=\"articleList\">\n<li>\n      The yield on the 10-year Treasury note<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">1.539%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       rose to 1.521%, up from 1.482% at 3 p.m. Eastern on Monday. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      The 2-year Treasury note yield<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD02Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">0.316%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       was 0.313%, compared with 0.28% on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n      The yield on the 30-year Treasury bond<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD30Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">2.066%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       rose to 2.049%, compared with 1.994% on Monday.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_driving_the_market\"><\/span>What\u2019s driving the market?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p> Treasury yields have been advancing since the middle of last week, following a Federal Reserve meeting that saw policy makers indicate they could formally lay out a plan to begin tapering monthly bond purchases as early as November, while also moving up forecasts for subsequent interest rate increases.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       Analysts said a sharp rise in energy prices was helping to fuel a global rise in yields, with crude prices<br \/>\n        CL00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/209723049\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.93%<\/bg-quote><\/p>\n<p>        BRN00,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/209704782\/delayed\" class=\"positive\">+0.74%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       jumping to three-year highs and natural-gas prices soaring. Energy shortages have led to factory disruptions in Asia and Europe, which could squeeze supplies, feeding into inflationary pressures.<\/p>\n<p>Also Republican senators blocked a bill Monday night in Congress that would allow the U.S. government to keep operating beyond the end of the fiscal year on Thursday, and lift the federal debt ceiling. Other Fed speakers slated to speak Tuesday include Gov. Michelle Bowman, Atlanta Fed Gov.
