The \u201cCircus\u201d headliner hasn\u2019t had control over her financial or personal life, because it\u2019s in the hands of a team led by her father, Jamie Spears.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Everything from her access to her children to her ability to spontaneously go out for lunch has been in her 69-year-old dad\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/03\/31\/britney-spears-dad-wants-her-to-pay-the-bill-in-their-legal-battle\/\">well-compensated hands<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Some shocking details were previously made in the recent FX on Hulu documentary<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/09\/24\/britney-spears-dad-allegedly-monitored-her-texts-and-calls\/\"> \u201cFraming Britney Spears,\u201d<\/a> which exposed how Jamie had control over his daughter\u2019s text messages, phone calls, and internet browser history. <\/p>\n<p>Then Britney <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/06\/23\/britney-spears-conservatorship-hearing-in-begins-in-la\/\">dropped her own bombshells<\/a> during a family court hearing in June: \u201cI\u2019ve lied and told the whole world I\u2019m OK and I\u2019m h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y\u2026 I am traumatized\u2026 I have an [IUD] in my body right now that won\u2019t let me have a baby, and my conservators won\u2019t let me go to the doctor to take it out. I feel ganged up on. I feel bullied and I feel left out and alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/jamie-spears-reportedly-said-i-am-britney-spears-after-conservatorship-2021-7\">reporting from Ronan Farrow<\/a> alleged that Jamie called his daughter derogatory names and said, \u201cI am Britney Spears,\u201d referring to his own level of domination over her life. Former friend of the family Jacqueline Butcher, who attended the court hearing in which the conservatorship was first granted, said, \u201cAt the time, I thought we were helping. The paperwork for Britney\u2019s conservatorship checks off \u201corders related to dementia placement.\u201d This is highly unusual for cases involving young people, Carr and Eliscu note on-screen. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Evaluation_from_a_geriatric_psychiatrist\"><\/span>Evaluation from a geriatric psychiatrist <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As they probe the documents of the case, the filmmakers reveal that the doctor who signed off on Britney\u2019s alleged condition, Dr. J. In Britney\u2019s case, this five-day time window was waived, which is also unusual. The cited reason was that Britney\u2019s then-manager Sam Lutfi was considered dangerous to the entertainer. Her parents and others in her circle were convinced that Lutfi was crushing drugs and putting them <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/07\/14\/britney-spears-former-manager-sam-lutfi-e-he-failed-her\/\">into her food<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The controversial Lutfi, who is interviewed in the documentary, denies this allegation on-screen. \u201cTo be accused of allegations that serious \u2014 that you\u2019re drugging the world\u2019s biggest star \u2014 you call the police, you call the FBI. He suggests that it\u2019s better to have an independent professional as a conservator rather than a family member. That\u2019s what he was going to advocate for for Britney.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cWhen I told the judge what Britney wanted,\u201d he says, \u201cthe judge looked at me and said, \u2018Mr. Streisand, I have a report that says she does not have the capacity to retain counsel and have an attorney-client relationship. So, I\u2019m sorry but you\u2019re not going to be able to represent her and I need to ask you to leave the courtroom.\u201d In 2009, over a year after the conservatorship supposedly \u201chelped\u201d Britney, she was still trying to get her own lawyer because she didn\u2019t think the court-appointed attorney, Sam Ingham, was advocating for her enough. Streisand explains on-screen that the conservatorship setup allows Jamie Spears the ability to object to Ingham getting paid \u2014 so there\u2019s a natural tendency for the lawyer to want to cooperate with the conservator.  Ingham resigned on July 6 and made nearly $3 million over the course of the conservatorship. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conservatorships_arent_usually_like_this\"><\/span><strong>Conservatorships aren\u2019t usually like this<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>On-screen, one lawyer explains that to get a conservatorship, \u201cYou have to be unable to meet your needs for food, clothing, health and shelter.\u201d He further explains that he\u2019s represented many people who have been under conservatorships \u2014 and none of them have ever had jobs. Britney\u2019s ex boyfriend, former papparazzo Adnan Ghalib, further says on-screen in a voiceover, \u201cShe\u2019s functioning. I watched her write the \u2018Blackout\u2019 album on a Starbucks napkin\u2026 I watched her sit there and put the moves together. She did all of that, and you\u2019re telling me that her father\u2019s going to get a conservatorship? However, during this time, Jamie earned $2.1 million from her tour revenues, in addition to a monthly salary of $16,000.
