\nWell this is a surprise!<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve been waiting for news<\/a> of a permanent host to move things forward on\u00a0The Bachelor<\/em> after longtime host\u00a0Chris Harrison<\/strong>\u2018s departure, and now we\u2019ve got it!<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Variety<\/em>, the new\u00a0permanent<\/em> host of\u00a0The Bachelor<\/em> will be\u2026 (drum roll please!) \u2026\u00a0Jesse Palmer<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

If that name sounds familiar to the show\u2019s fans, it SHOULD! Palmer starred on the show\u00a0waaay<\/em> back in season 5 \u2014 AKA, the innocent old times of 2004.<\/p>\n

It makes sense that Palmer is next man up after his personal experience trying to find love on the popular TV show. But also, in his professional life since that\u00a0Bachelor<\/em> run, the former\u00a0NFL<\/strong> quarterback has become a solid on-air host of his own, working for\u00a0ABC<\/strong>, as a special contributor on\u00a0Good Morning America<\/em>, and fellow Walt Disney Company<\/strong> subsidiary\u00a0ESPN<\/strong>, on college football telecasts.<\/p>\n

He is also currently hosting ABC\u2019s summer series<\/a>\u00a0The Ultimate Surfer<\/i>, and previously helmed\u00a0The Proposal<\/em> back in 2018 \u2014 which, by the way, was created by\u00a0Bachelor<\/em> boss\u00a0Mike Fleiss<\/strong>. So, clearly,\u00a0Bachelor Nation<\/em>\u2018s production team got a guy they feel comfortable with to move ahead with the series.<\/p>\n

Still, we can\u2019t help but feel bad for\u00a0Emmanuel Acho<\/strong>, who looked like he might be in the running for the gig after stepping in for Harrison during\u00a0Matt James<\/strong>\u2018s time on the 25th season of the show. Acho was great on camera, but obviously, producers have gone a different direction. Alas!<\/p>\n

BTW,\u00a0Variety<\/em> reports that insiders are claiming Palmer\u2019s hosting status is\u00a0only<\/em> set for\u00a0The Bachelor<\/i> \u2014 so far. While it\u2019s possible he could host future seasons of\u00a0The Bachelorette<\/i>, and\/or\u00a0Bachelor In Paradise<\/em>, that hasn\u2019t been officially decided yet.<\/p>\n
