{"id":346551,"date":"2021-09-30T20:15:28","date_gmt":"2021-09-30T17:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/google-tells-court-staggering-5b-eu-antitrust-fine-flawed\/"},"modified":"2021-09-30T20:15:28","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T17:15:28","slug":"google-tells-court-staggering-5b-eu-antitrust-fine-flawed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/google-tells-court-staggering-5b-eu-antitrust-fine-flawed\/","title":{"rendered":"#Google tells court &#8216;staggering&#8217; $5B EU antitrust fine flawed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Google tells court &#8216;staggering&#8217; $5B EU antitrust fine flawed<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>A 4.34 billion euro ($5 billion) European Union antitrust fine was based on flawed calculations, Alphabet\u2019s\u00a0Google\u00a0said on Thursday, urging Europe\u2019s second-highest court to scrap or reduce what it said was not an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriate penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Google\u00a0was fined for using its Android mobile operating system to thwart rivals and cement its dominance in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> internet search from 2011, in the largest penalty meted out to any company found guilty of breaching EU antitrust rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fine that was imposed, a staggering 4.34 billion euros, was not appropriate,\u201d\u00a0Google\u2019s lawyer Genevra Forwood told the five-judge panel of the General Court on the fourth day of a week-long hearing, which is taking place three years after the European Commission sanctioned the company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe problem is not the headline-grabbing fine per se.
