{"id":346683,"date":"2021-10-01T02:19:00","date_gmt":"2021-09-30T23:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/bmf-star-demetrius-flenory-jr-on-how-50-cent-changed-his-life\/"},"modified":"2021-10-01T02:19:00","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T23:19:00","slug":"bmf-star-demetrius-flenory-jr-on-how-50-cent-changed-his-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/bmf-star-demetrius-flenory-jr-on-how-50-cent-changed-his-life\/","title":{"rendered":"#&#8217;BMF&#8217; star Demetrius Flenory Jr. on how 50 Cent changed his life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#&#8217;BMF&#8217; star Demetrius Flenory Jr. on how 50 Cent changed his life<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Demetrius Flenory Jr., son of the currently incarcerated Black Mafia Family founder Demetrius Flenory, never planned on becoming an actor \u2014 until r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er\/producer Curtis \u201c50 Cent\u201d Jackson suggested he play his father in a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TV series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got a call from my dad, who\u2019s in prison, and he told me 50 Cent had the rights to the BMF story and he could do whatever he wanted with it \u2013 a movie or a TV series,\u201d Flenory Jr., 21, told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first casting was in Atlanta, and my dad wanted me to go meet Fifty [Cent] so that I could see how everything was going to work.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There, the rapper\/executive producer told Flenory Jr. that he wanted to move him to LA and enroll him in acting classes so that he could star in the \u201cBMF,\u201d airing Sundays at 8 p.m. on Starz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first it sounded crazy \u2014 I had never acted before,\u201d said Flenory. \u201cI was actually in school for business at UNLV, in Las Vegas. [Now] I want to act for the rest of my life. I feel like I found my calling. So, Fifty basically brought acting to me. He\u2019s the reason that I\u2019m acting. It\u2019s been renewed for a second season.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The drama, which has already been renewed for a Season 2, is primarily set in the 1980s and is inspired by the life of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/news\/local\/detroit-city\/2020\/05\/05\/judge-release-black-mafia-family-kingpin-demetrius-flenory\/5171160002\/\">Demetrius Flenory<\/a> and his brother, Terry (Da\u2019Vinchi, \u201cAll American\u201d), who went from being small-time cocaine dealers in Detroit to founding one of the most influential crime families in the country. Eminem and Snoop Dogg also appear in the show in supporting roles. At the height of their power, the brothers led a national drug ring with over 500 employers distributing more than $270 million worth in cocaine; they also entered the hip-hop world with BMF Entertainment before being sentenced to 30 years behind bars in 2005.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy dad has seen [the show], my family has seen it, and they all love it,\u201d Flenory Jr. said. \u201cOf course, they wanted to make sure that I knew what I was doing. But once they got the chance to see me in action, they saw how seriously I was taking it. My ultimate goal is to make them proud.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>During his childhood and teen years, Flenory Jr. visited his father in prison once a month for eight hours. He could no longer see him in-person while he was preparing for the show and living in LA, so they switched to daily phone calls. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe gave me insight and told me where his mindset was at the time. I didn\u2019t know a lot about his childhood and how he grew up,\u201d Flenory Jr. said. \u201cI didn\u2019t understand how poor he was, and the decisions he had to make. He thought he had to be a man at 15, 16 years old. So, he had to really help me to understand the obstacles that he was facing at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aside from talking to his dad, Flenory Jr. said he watched \u201cGoodfellas\u201d and \u201cThe Sopranos\u201d in order to prepare for the role. But the mob element isn\u2019t all there is to the show or to his father\u2019s story, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople misjudge what type of man he is,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople don\u2019t understand how loving and how much of a caring person he is. They only know what they hear. So, this story will help people understand. BMF is much more than drug dealers, much more than mafia or whatever you think. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope everybody can get to see [the show] and read between the lines and understand that it\u2019s about brotherhood and loyalty and family.
