Richard Blumental asked a top Facebook executive on Thursday if the company would \u201ccommit to ending \u2018finsta&#8217;\u201d \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arently unaware of the term\u2019s true meaning.<\/p>\n<p>Blumenthal (D-Conn.) questioned Facebook\u2019s Global Head of Safety Antigone Davis as part of a Senate committee hearing that followed a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/facebook-knows-instagram-is-toxic-for-teen-girls-company-documents-show-11631620739?mod=article_inline\">Wall Street Journal report<\/a> that the company\u2019s internal research had found its platform Instagram makes \u201cbody image issues worse for one in three teen girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There were several seconds of silence before Davis answered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator, again, let me explain,\u201d she began. \u201cWe don\u2019t actually \u2013 we don\u2019t actually do \u2018finsta\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat \u2018finsta\u2019 refers to is young people setting up accounts where they may want to have more privacy,\u201d she went on. \u201cYou referred to it as privacy from their parents. In my interaction with teens, what I\u2019ve found is that they sometimes like to have an account where they can interact just with a smaller group of friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blumenthal, head of the Senate Commerce Committee\u2019s subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, pressed Davis toward the end of the three-hour hearing.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/facebook-finsta-366.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Sen.
