\n A Christian charity has forced Florida Rep. Ted Yoho to resign from its board for allegedly calling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a \u201cf\u2013king bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Republican stepped down from anti-hunger group Bread for the World on Friday, the organization said.<\/p>\n

Chris Ford, a spokesperson for the group, said it \u201csought his resignation as an action that reaffirms our commitment to coming alongside women and people of color, nationally and globally, as they continue to lead us to a more racially inclusive and equitable world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yoho\u2019s \u201crecent actions and words as reported in the media<\/a> are not reflective of the ethical standards expected of members of our Board of Directors,\u201d Ford told CNN.<\/p>\n

Yoho on Monday confronted Ocasio-Cortez outside the Capitol, telling the New York Democratic socialist that she was \u201cdisgusting\u201d for her recent remarks tying poverty and unemployment to the recent spike in crime in New York City \u2014 allegedly calling her a \u201cf\u2013king bitch.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Yoho apologized for \u201cthe abrupt manner of the conversation\u201d but denied using \u201coffensive name-calling words\u201d against AOC.<\/p>\n

Democrats hammered Yoho in House floor speeches on Thursday, arguing Yoho\u2019s conduct showed there\u2019s sexism against female representatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn front of reporters, Representative\u00a0Yoho<\/span> called me, and I quote, a f\u2013king bitch,\u201d AOC recounted for the Congressional Record.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have tossed men out of bars that have used language like Mr. Yoho. And I have encountered this type of harassment riding the subway in New York City. This is not new. And that is the problem,\u201d she said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
