{"id":346914,"date":"2021-09-30T23:35:57","date_gmt":"2021-09-30T20:35:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/aspca-hotline-sees-rise-in-calls-about-dogs-ingesting-marijuana\/"},"modified":"2021-09-30T23:35:57","modified_gmt":"2021-09-30T20:35:57","slug":"aspca-hotline-sees-rise-in-calls-about-dogs-ingesting-marijuana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/aspca-hotline-sees-rise-in-calls-about-dogs-ingesting-marijuana\/","title":{"rendered":"#ASPCA hotline sees rise in calls about dogs ingesting marijuana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#ASPCA hotline sees rise in calls about dogs ingesting marijuana<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Americans are having a lot of trouble keeping their dogs off the grass these days.<\/p>\n<p>The number of cases of dogs getting high from marijuana products has increased dramatically, as more and more states legalize medicinal and recreational marijuana, according to the ASPCA.<\/p>\n<p>ASPCA\u2019s poison hotline has swelled with calls of doped-up dogs, who are finding greater opportunities to ingest edible cannabis snacks in their owner\u2019s homes as well as on the streets in public, according to The Los Angeles Times.<\/p>\n<p>Between 2017 and 2020, national call volume for cannabis ingestion in dogs rose from 1,436 to 3,923 cases, Tina Wismer, a veterinarian and senior director of the New York-based ASPCA Poison Control Center, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2021-09-30\/dogs-stoned-cannabis-edibles-reports-increase\">told The Los Angeles Times<\/a>. These numbers are believed to be just a fraction of actual instances.<\/p>\n<p>In California, the number of cases has risen 276 percent from 2016 \u2014 when recreational pot was first legalized \u2014 to 2020, the paper reported.
