Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roval&#8217; in October \u2014 analyst <\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-128018ef>A Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded fund (ETF) has a 75% chance of being approved this month \u2014 in some form.<\/p>\n<p>In <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mobile.twitter.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1444283405949181955\">comments<\/a> this weekend, Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst for Bloomberg, said that United States Bitcoin futures ETFs were \u201clikely on schedule\u201d for the regulatory green light.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bitcoin_futures_ETFs_%E2%80%9Cvery_much_alive%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>Bitcoin futures ETFs &#8220;very much alive&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>October began with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announcing a frustrating yet not uncommon delay to their decision on whether or not to approve Bitcoin ETFs.<\/p>\n<p>The various applications, instead of being allowed or denied this month, will now begin to be processed in November.<\/p>\n<p>According to Balchunas, however, Futures-based ETFs are more likely than not to pass muster in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, the SEC has kicked can on bitcoin ETF approval BUT that is for the physically-backed ones under &#8217;33 Act,\u201d he told <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> followers. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe futures ETFs filed under the &#8217;40 Act (which Genz loves) are very much alive and likely on schedule (we think 75% chance approved in Oct).\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Balchunas referred to SEC chair Garry Gensler, who last week hinted at a permissive stance regarding the instruments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSubsequently, we\u2019ve started to see filings under the Investment Company Act with regard to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) seeking to invest in CME-traded bitcoin futures,\u201d he said in <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/news\/speech\/gensler-famnac-2021-09-29\">concluding remarks<\/a> at the Future of Asset Management North America Conference. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWhen combined with the other federal securities laws, the \u201940 Act provides significant investor protections for mutual funds and ETFs.
