{"id":348123,"date":"2021-10-04T15:31:31","date_gmt":"2021-10-04T12:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/jpmorgan-boss-jamie-dimon-defends-31-5-million-yearly-salary\/"},"modified":"2021-10-04T15:31:31","modified_gmt":"2021-10-04T12:31:31","slug":"jpmorgan-boss-jamie-dimon-defends-31-5-million-yearly-salary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/jpmorgan-boss-jamie-dimon-defends-31-5-million-yearly-salary\/","title":{"rendered":"#JPMorgan boss Jamie Dimon defends $31.5 million yearly salary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#JPMorgan boss Jamie Dimon defends $31.5 million yearly salary<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>JPMorgan boss Jamie Dimon defended his eye-popping $31.5 million salary as the result of the country\u2019s \u201cfree market\u201d which \u201ceveryone should <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>laud\u201d during an interview about the bank\u2019s multibillion-dollar pledge to combat racial inequality.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s board paid Dimon the massive pay package for 2020, and they\u2019ve awarded millions more in stock options if the CEO and chairman stick around for at least five years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe board decides what I make,\u201d Dimon <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/jamie-dimon-china-uyghurs-6651e96f-67c9-428e-b545-e423e5e1319d.html\">told Axios<\/a> co-founder James VandeHei in an interview that aired Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p>VandeHei suggested that Dimon \u2014 who\u2019s worth about $2 billion, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/profile\/jamie-dimon\/?sh=447d5b3e5063\">Forbes <\/a>\u2014 could ask the board to cut his pay, but Dimon responded that JPMorgan\u2019s board would take offense, adding that the CEO\u2019s pay is part of an \u201cumbrella\u201d plan designed to retain executives. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a free market in this country, which \u2026 everyone should applaud,\u201d Dimon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey could all sell their services elsewhere. I need to maintain the best team on the playing field. And I need to pay them fairly to do that. We believe in free enterprise. We believe in the capitalist system. That\u2019s all counter to China,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, he said, after the nationwide protests sparked by the murder of George Floyd by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, the bank \u201cdoubled down on: What can we do to help the black community?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dimon\u2019s efforts in various so-called environmental, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> and governance issues have drawn criticism from some on the right, including Sen. Tim Scott, a Republican from South Carolina, who previously accused JPMorgan and other big banks of practicing \u201cwoke capitalism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked by Axios whether he is in fact \u201cwoke,\u201d Dimon responded, \u201cI don\u2019t even know what that means.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just look at the issues: Is it right?
