In the battle between Epic Games and Steam, Epic is finally adding a feature that brings it closer to Valve\u2019s offering\u2014the Epic Games Store is getting <\/a>achievements. So now, the company will adequately reward the cool stuff you do in your games.<\/p>\n

The platform-wide achievement system isn\u2019t launching just yet, as Epic says<\/a> it\u2019ll be available to gamers next week.<\/p>\n

In an FAQ, Epic pointed out that the platform already had a feature called \u201cDeveloper Achievements,\u201d which were managed by each game developer and didn\u2019t provide a platform-wide score like Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. Those achievements will still exist for developers who choose not to interact with Epic\u2019s system.<\/p>\n

With Epic\u2019s new achievement system, the company says it\u2019ll bring \u201cadditional benefits for players and brings them more in line with achievement systems on other platforms.\u201d For example, it\u2019ll have profile levels that track your overall progress throughout different games on Epic\u2019s platform.<\/p>\n

Currently, the list of games includes Rocket League, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Kena, Zombie Army 4, and Alan Wake Remastered. As far as future games, the company says, \u201cWe expect this new system will roll out to all developers on the Epic Games Store in the coming months.\u201d That means more developers will be able to integrate achievements into their games in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
