The 2007 <em>Graduation<\/em> No. 1 hit notches diamond status 14 years following its release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStronger\u201d served as the second single off Kanye\u2019s <em>Graduation<\/em> album and features a sample of Daft Punk\u2019s \u201cHarder, Better, Faster, Stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Kanye West\u2019s \u2018Stronger\u2019 is now <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RIAA?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RIAA<\/a> certified DIAMOND \ud83d\udc8e ! Congratulations to Yeezy and the entire team. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ISgiWiF52b\">pic.twitter.com\/ISgiWiF52b<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Def Jam Recordings (@defjam) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/defjam\/status\/1445742293827293197?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 6, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The genre-blending tune was a labor of love for Kanye West and his team as the track was mixed over 75 times and had more than 10 engineers working on perfecting the record until Timbaland came in at the last minute to make the \u201cdrums pop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kanye West &amp; Timbaland In The Studio Working On &quot;Stonger&quot;\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2Nl2Wn1pjrs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>One of Kanye\u2019s go-to engineers Anthony Kilhoffer recalled the process of crafting \u201cStronger\u201d in an interview with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/columns\/hip-hop\/7957949\/kanye-west-graduation-10-year-anniversary-interview\"><em>Billboard<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen [Kanye] sampled\u00a0Daft Punk\u00a0on an ASR-10, Plain Pat said, \u2018You can\u2019t flip this. It\u2019s not going to work.\u2019 Pat was highly skeptical,\u201d he said. \u201cAt the end of the day, he cooked up \u2018Stronger\u2019 in five minutes, and it was quite a departure from the boom-bap Kanye West production, and the beginning of experimenting with other albums.<\/p>\n<p>He probably had eight to ten different mixing engineers on the song. I\u2019d say there\u2019s ten a piece to each mixer. I know I mixed that song for two weeks straight every day and that was after it had been mixed by five other engineers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kanye West - Stronger\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PsO6ZnUZI0g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cStronger\u201d would go on to top the Billboard Hot 100 and break up Soulja Boy\u2019s \u201cCrank Dat\u201d run.
