It\u2019s no wonder that CBS, by way of former \u201cZoey\u2019s Extraordinary Playlist\u201d producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, seized the opportunity to use this premise, which is as fantastical as it is economical. As originally conceived for the BBC by a collection of \u201cHorrible Histories\u201d writers, \u201cGhosts\u201d made room for screwball comedy and jokes ranging from extremely silly to unexpectedly profound. (If you haven\u2019t already, you can see it for yourself now on HBO Max. In reimagining the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> for American television, Port and Wiseman strive to tap into the alchemy that made the original so im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely compelling.<\/p>\n<p>In its first couple episodes, however, CBS\u2019 \u201cGhosts\u201d hew so close to the BBC\u2019s that entire scenes are repeated almost verbatim. It\u2019s admittedly rare for a sitcom to find its feet as quickly as the American \u201cGhosts\u201d does, no doubt because it\u2019s got a fairly malleable outline to follow that\u2019s already proven successful. So while it\u2019s genuinely jarring to watch this iteration of \u201cGhosts\u201d if you\u2019ve seen its British inspiration, if you have not \u2026 well, it\u2019s charming enough to merit sticking around, anyway, especially as it begins to find its own way in a third episode completely divorced from the show\u2019s source material.<\/p>\n<p>As in the original series, CBS\u2019 \u201cGhosts\u201d follows a young couple to a crumbling manse left behind by a distant relative. Sick of the high cost of living in a city, Samantha (Rose McIver) dreams of turning the estate into a bed and breakfast, while her skeptical husband Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) does his best not to doubt her. When a freak accident enables Samantha to see and hear the collection of ghosts stranded in the house, she has to figure out what to believe and, more difficult still, how to live alongside these extremely chatty new presences in her life. Some ghosts \u2014 like Richie Moriarty\u2019s Boy Scout leader Pete and Rebecca Wisocky\u2019s snooty grand dame Hetty \u2014 have direct roots in the original series. Others \u2014 like Brandon Scott Jones\u2019 Revolutionary War veteran Isaac, Devan Chandler Long\u2019s Viking, and Asher Grodman\u2019s Wall Street jerk Trevor \u2014 are recognizable twists on their predecessors, with Jones\u2019 pitch perfect histrionics making Isaac an early standout.<\/p>\n<p>Most interesting, but not coincidentally the least fleshed out, are entirely new ghosts like Danielle Pinnock\u2019s dramatic fl<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er singer Alberta, Sheila Carrasco\u2019s wayward hippie Flower, and Rom\u00e1n Zaragoza\u2019s deadpan Native American.
