With the new Switch OLED model, fans are getting an upgraded console, but it\u2019s not quite the Switch Pro fans have been looking for.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nintendo_Switch_OLED_Model_Reviews_Are_In\"><\/span>Nintendo Switch OLED Model Reviews Are In<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Whenever Nintendo releases a new console, the world takes notice. Sure, the Switch OLED model might not be a full 4K Switch Pro like some people were hoping for, but based on the reviews, it seems to be a substantial upgrade over the original console.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <strong><em>Nintendo Switch OLED: Is Screen Burn-in a Problem?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Andrew Webster with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/games\/22711889\/nintendo-switch-oled-review\">The Verge<\/a> said, \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0not 4K, but it sure looks good.\u201d In the end, the new console received an 8 out of 10, which is solid. The big positives are the improved kickstand, the beautiful screen, and the extra storage. The main negatives of the review are the fact that the\u00a0Joy-Con controllers haven\u2019t changed and the lack of performance gains.<\/p>\n<p>Over at <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/nintendo-switch-oled-review-130025998.html\">Engadget<\/a>,\u00a0Kris Naudus called the console \u201cbeautiful, but not a must-have,\u201d which seems to be the main opinion offered by reviewers. With that said, the review also gave the console an impressive 89 out of 100. It says the \u201cOLED screen is larger and brighter,\u201d and there\u2019s \u201cimproved battery life over previous models.\u201d Those alone outweigh the publication\u2019s main issues, which are the heavier console, a lack of an option to charge the console in tabletop mode, and the fact that it costs more than the original.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/nintendo-switch-oled-review\">IGN<\/a> addressed whether current Switch owners should upgrade. Writer\u00a0Taylor Lyles said, \u201cThe Switch OLED does enough right to make it the current Nintendo flagship, but not enough to make most Switch owners upgrade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/reviews\/22711349\/nintendo-switch-oled-model-review-impressions-comparison\">Polygon<\/a>\u2018s Russ Frushtick agrees, saying, \u201cFor someone who has never purchased a Switch and is deciding whether to spend $50 more on the OLED model, I\u2019d say it\u2019s worthwhile.\u201d For current owners, it doesn\u2019t seem like upgrading is worthwhile.
