The proposal is now expected to execute on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Users who interacted with the six affected markets \u2014 cTUSD, cMKR, cSUSHI, cYFI, cAAVE, and cSAI \u2014 will not be able to claim rewards from their entitled staked COMP tokens until after the issue is fully resolved. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Proposal 064 passed, and can be executed in two days:<\/p>\n<p>1,037,107 COMP \u2705<br \/>0 COMP \u26d4\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p>For the majority of users, the COMP Distribution will return to normal after execution.<\/p>\n<p>Certain users (that hit the 62 bug) will be unable to claim COMP until after a future patch.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Compound Labs (@compoundfinance) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/compoundfinance\/status\/1446105336704864256?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 7, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>This last Friday, Cointelegraph reported that a token distribution bug within the community-written Proposal 062 exposed a potentially devastating financial distribution flaw in which users of the protocol were mistakenly able to claim COMP tokens to the sum of $70 million.<\/p>\n<p>If exploited to the fullest, the bug would threaten to drain all COMP tokens held within the Comptroller contract, leaving only those left in the Reservoir contract.<\/p>\n<p>Attempts to rectify the crisis were im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely instigated through Proposal 063, which took seven days to reach\u00a0production due to the protocol\u2019s governance procedure of reviewing, voting and time lock. This lasted two, three and a further two days, respectively. <\/p>\n<p>However, the seven-day delay enabled a malicious entity to exploit the drip() functionality, transferring\u00a0$68.8m from the reservoir to the Comptroller, which increases the pool for incorrectly distributed COMP rewards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The website&#8217;s governance <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/compound.finance\/governance\/proposals\/64\"><\/a><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/compound.finance\/governance\/proposals\/64\">reveals<\/a>\u00a0the reason for a further proposal iteration:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cProposal 63 prevents further COMP from being distributed until the correct logic is restored but causes issues for protocols that integrated with Compound and required the claim functionality.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Proposal 064 is expected to resolve Compound&#8217;s accrual issues, but the lost funds can only be reclaimed on a individual basis \u2014 a decision the protocol said is down to each user&#8217;s moral discretion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"defi_newsletter\"><\/template><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
