This takes money out of developers\u2019 pockets and has sparked legal battles around the world \u2014 including Fortnite maker Epic <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a>s\u2019 suit against Apple in the US and a recently-passed South Korean law requiring Apple and Google to let developers use alternative payments systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands\u2019 regulator is the first national antitrust body to find that Apple has abused market power in its app store, according to Reuters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The regulator is not levying a fine but is demanding unspecified changes to the app store, according to the outlet, which cited people familiar with the matter. The regulator is reportedly set to release its decision publicly before the end of the year \u2014 but Apple is appealing the ruling and seeking an injunction to stop it from taking effect.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Dutch investigation into whether Apple was abusing a dominant market position was launched in 2019 but was later reduced in scope to focus primarily on dating apps.<\/p>\n<p>The probe was sparked in part by Match Group \u2014 owner of Tinder and OkCupid \u2014 which told regulators in a complaint that Apple\u2019s rules were hindering it from direct communications with its customers about payments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Spokespeople for Apple and Match Group did not im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely reply to requests for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, the European Commission launched an investigation last year focused on whether app store rules favor Apple apps when there are competing products. That could include giving Apple Music preference over Spotify, for example.<\/p>\n<p>In the US, bills introduced in the House and Senate in August\u00a0would also ban Apple and Google from requiring app developers\u00a0use their payments systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And in September, a California judge in the dispute between Apple and Epic Games ordered Apple to let developers who use its app store\u00a0offer customers payments systems besides Apple Pay.\u00a0But the judge also sided against Epic on several counts and the\u00a0video game maker appealed the ruling.
