{"id":350460,"date":"2021-10-08T22:28:08","date_gmt":"2021-10-08T19:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/facebook-and-instagram-users-hit-with-outages-again\/"},"modified":"2021-10-08T22:28:08","modified_gmt":"2021-10-08T19:28:08","slug":"facebook-and-instagram-users-hit-with-outages-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/facebook-and-instagram-users-hit-with-outages-again\/","title":{"rendered":"#Facebook and Instagram users hit with outages \u2014 again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> and Instagram users hit with outages \u2014 again<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Facebook and Instagram were hit with a second wave of outages on Friday afternoon \u2014 just days after the services went down for hours on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Reps for Facebook said Friday\u2019s outage had been resolved and the company\u2019s networks were \u201cback to 100 percent\u201d shortly after 5 p.m. ET \u2014 more than two hours after users began reporting they were unable to use the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>s.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook blamed Friday outage on a \u201cconfiguration change\u201d and confirmed that it affected users worldwide. The outage hit its Messenger and Workplace apps in addition to Facebook and Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook also said Friday\u2019s outage was not related to Monday\u2019s outage, in which Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all went down globally for more than six hours, wiping more than $50 million off the market capitalization of Facebook, which owns all three services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSincere apologies to anyone who wasn\u2019t able to access our products in the last couple of hours,\u201d a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement. \u201cWe fixed the issue, and everything should be back to normal now.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>Facebook said\u00a0Monday\u2019s outage was an \u201cerror of our own making.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Monday outage\u00a0was triggered when Facebook engineers were trying to conduct \u201ca routine maintenance\u201d job, Santosh Janardhan, Facebook\u2019s vice president of infrastructure,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/engineering.fb.com\/2021\/10\/05\/networking-traffic\/outage-details\/\">wrote in a blog post<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Facebook-Instagram-and-WhatsApp-297.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Social media apps\" class=\"wp-image-19745379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Facebook-Instagram-and-WhatsApp-297.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Facebook-Instagram-and-WhatsApp-297.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Facebook-Instagram-and-WhatsApp-297.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Facebook did not immediately reply to a request for comment.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On Friday, more than 32,000 American Instagram users had reported being unable to use the app between about 2:30 and 3 p.m. ET, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.com\/status\/instagram\/\">according to DownDetector.<\/a> About 2,300 US Facebook users also reported issues over the same period of time.
