“#Daytime Emmys 2020 winners list: Alan Menken scores EGOT<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n The second round of winners for the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were unveiled Sunday night as the ceremony handed out trophies honoring Children\u2019s, Lifestyle, and Animation programming. The ceremony also paid tribute to Regin Philbin, who passed away this weekend, by sharing his acceptance speech for the Lifetime Achievement Award he received at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in 2008.<\/p>\n

Hosted by Loni Love, the virtual ceremony follows last week\u2019s event which honored the best in Digital Dramas with Amazon\u2019s The Bay, After Forever<\/em> and Studio City<\/em> walking away as big winners. During the livestream, winners accepted their Emmys from the comfort of their own homes \u2014 or wherever they are in quarantine.<\/p>\n

Presenters included Izabella Alvarez (Nickelodeon\u2019s The Loud House<\/em> and The Casagrandes<\/em>), actress and social media<\/a> star Tabitha Brown (Actress and Vegan Foodie), Josh Dela Cruz (Nickelodeon\u2019s Blue\u2019s Clues & You!<\/em>), Quintessa Swindell (Netflix\u2019s Trinkets<\/em>) and Andrew Zimmern (The Zimmern List<\/em>).<\/p>\n

When it came to networks, there was a three-way tie between Amazon Prime Video, HBO and Netflix for the top spot as they each won six Daytime Emmys. The Mouse House fared well with Disney Channel earning five trophies and Disney Junior winning four.<\/p>\n

Big winners of the evening included Elena of Avalor <\/em>which won three Daytime Emmys with its primetime finale special set for August 23.\u00a0Rapunzel\u2019s Tangled Adventure<\/em> also received three while Sesame Street\u2019s 50th Anniversary Celebration tallied three while the regulars series<\/a> also earned a trio of Emmys.<\/p>\n

Alan Menken became the 16th person in history to achieve EGOT status, joining an exclusive group of people who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. Menken won for Best Original Song along with Glenn Slater for the aforementioned Rapunzel\u2019s Tangled Adventure. <\/em>It should be noted that Menken received an honorary Primetime Emmy in 1990. This marks his first competitive Emmy win.<\/p>\n

The\u00a041st Annual Sports Emmy Awards are set for August 11 at 8pm ET\/5pm PT while the 41st Annual News<\/a> & Documentary Emmy Awards are slated for Awards September 2020.<\/p>\n
