Stunning photos show the Indonesian island paradise, which has been closed since April 2020, being taken over by the original jungle.<\/p>\n<p>Popular towns like Kuta, Ubud and Sanur look like they\u2019ve been through an apocalypse \u2013 with empty mannequins in stores, jungle plants growing over furniture, buildings, and shops, and restaurants and hotels still closed.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nyoman Sukma Arida, a lecturer at the tourism faculty of Udayana University, noted to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/artanddesign\/2021\/oct\/09\/bali-without-tourists-once-bustling-hotspots-now-eerie-and-overgrown-a-photo-essay\">The Guardian<\/a> that 60 percent of the island\u2019s economy comes from tourism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRelying solely on a fragile tourism economy is of course very risky.
