She was just 25 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The elite long-distance runner, who finished in fourth place during the women\u2019s 5,000-meter final at the <strong>Tokyo<\/strong> <strong>Olympics<\/strong>, was discovered by police after her father called authorities when he could not get in touch with her. According to <em>BBC<\/em>, cops arrived at the Iten, Kenya residence to discover Tirop laying in bed surrounded by a pool of her own blood. They also reported a stab wound on her stomach. Currently, investigators are looking for Tirop\u2019s husband, deemed a \u201csuspect\u201d in the case because he has not been seen or heard from since Agnes\u2019 passing.\u00a0 A criminal investigation is underway. <strong>Tom Makori<\/strong>, the head of police in the area, told <em>BBC<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHer husband is still at large, and preliminary investigations tell us her husband is a suspect because he cannot be found. Police are trying to find her husband so he can explain what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened to Tirop.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Women&#039;s 5,000m Final | Tokyo Replays\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JX3ij39OAso?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The athlete was one of the best and most promising runners in the world. Just last month, she set a women\u2019s world record at a 10-kilometer race in Germany. Before competing in the Tokyo Olympics (above), she also took home bronze medals at the <strong>World Athletic Championships<\/strong> in 2017 and 2019. For someone so young, she had already accomplished so much and was bound to continue breaking more records. It\u2019s so sad that she will no longer be able to live out those dreams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: This Poor Mom\u2019s Toddler Accidentally Filmed Her In The Shower On Instagram Live!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the wake of this tragic <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>, the country\u2019s athletics body released a statement, expressing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c<strong>Athletics Kenya<\/strong> are distraught to learn about the untimely death of World 10,000m bronze medallist Agnes Tirop.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kenya\u2019s president, <strong>Uhuru Kenyatta<\/strong>, also weighed in on the loss, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt is unsettling, utterly unfortunate and very sad that we\u2019ve lost a young and promising athlete who, at a young age of 25 years, had brought our country so much glory.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Adidas<\/strong>, whom the runner partnered with, paid tribute to the late star on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a><\/strong>, writing:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe Adidas family is deeply saddened by the tragic news about Agnes Jebet Tirop. Agnes was an incredible person, a record-breaking athlete and a beloved member of our family.
