It\u2019s been fun fighting the fans on the road and having a good time with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/1346605234.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Astros\" class=\"wp-image-19807380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/1346605234.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/1346605234.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/1346605234.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Carlos Correa<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The 27-year-old has walked the walk, too, posting an excellent .286\/.353\/.476 slash line in 75 regular-season road <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s (he went a better .272\/.379\/.494 in 73 home games) and knocking his club\u2019s biggest hit Tuesday \u2014 a two-run, third-inning double \u2014 to eliminate the White Sox from the ALDS at Guaranteed Rate Field (worst ballpark name ever) as the Astros faced angry fans for the first time since Major League Baseball released its report on the scandal in early 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In 67 postseason games heading into Friday night\u2019s ALCS Game 1 against the Red Sox, Correa boasts of a career .276\/.350\/.531 slash line, with 17 homers and 54 RBIs. Throw in his strong walk year, with 26 homers and excellent defense, and he checks all of the boxes when it comes to performing in the spotlight.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI think he has dealt with it great,\u201d Astros manager Dusty Baker said. \u201cYou can\u2019t do anything about four, five months in advance. You can only play today. And I was in that situation myself, and you don\u2019t worry about the money. You just perform, and everything else will take care of itself. If you perform, you do the job, then everything else will follow after that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m telling you, Carlos has done an outstanding job because I\u2019ve seen a bunch of guys in their free-agent year really can\u2019t handle the insecurity of not having security, and so to me Carlos \u2026 he doesn\u2019t talk about it. He just comes to play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked Thursday about his contract status, Correa said, \u201cI\u2019m not thinking about that \u2026 I\u2019ll focus on that when the season\u2019s over. It\u2019s not over yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Astros are not expected to retain Correa, whose suitors could include the Tigers, Phillies and Rangers as the Yankees monitor the rich shortstop free-agent crop that also includes the Mets\u2019 Javier Baez, the Dodgers\u2019 Corey Seager, the Blue Jays\u2019 Marcus Semien and the Rockies\u2019 Trevor Story.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
