\n Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden rejected Fox News<\/a> Sunday anchor Chris Wallace\u2019s request for an interview, the host said on his program.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn our interview last week with President Trump, he questioned whether his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, could handle a similar encounter. This week, we asked the Biden campaign for an interview and they said the former vice president was not available,\u201d Wallace said on his show Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll keep asking every week,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The statement by Wallace came one week after President Trump\u2019s wide-ranging interview on his program, during which the commander-in-chief questioned whether the former vice president would be able to handle such hard-hitting questions.<\/p>\n

The president told the Fox News host that Biden would be \u201ccrying for mommy\u201d if forced to answer the same kinds of questions from Wallace.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet Biden sit through an interview like this, he\u2019ll be on the ground crying for mommy. He\u2019ll say \u2018Mommy, mommy, please take me home,’\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, we\u2019ve asked him for an interview, sir,\u201d Wallace replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe can\u2019t do an interview. He\u2019s incompetent,\u201d Trump said in response.<\/p>\n

Immedia<\/a>tely after his interview, Biden\u2019s deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield released a statement addressing claims made during the hour-long sitdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor over a year, Donald Trump and his campaign have cycled through the same self-defeating attacks against Joe Biden and have failed to get traction on a single one.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump gave it yet another go on \u2018Fox News Sunday\u2019 this morning. He lurched from smear to smear, all while being forcefully corrected on most, including the lie that Joe Biden wouldn\u2019t keep the American people safe and supports defunding the police \u2014 which has been fact-checked into oblivion over the last month,\u201d Bedingfield said.<\/p>\n

She neglected, however, to address the issue of Biden making his own app<\/a>earance on the program.<\/p>\n

One day after his interview with Trump, Wallace told fellow Fox News host Bret Baier that he believed Biden should put himself up to the same scrutiny and sit down for an interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact is, the president is out there. He\u2019s out there in this broiling heat with me for an hour, took all the questions,\u201d he said in an appearance on Baier\u2019s program last Monday, \u201cYou can like his answers or dislike them, but he had answers, and Joe Biden hasn\u2019t faced that kind of scrutiny, hasn\u2019t faced that kind of exposure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got to feel at some point he\u2019s going to come out from the basement. He\u2019s going to have to be more exposed and take questions just as tough as the ones I asked this president.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Biden campaign did not respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
