\n Police sure wanted to \u201caxe\u201d him about his sign.<\/p>\n

A protester was arrested in Manhattan Saturday for marching with an axe taped to his sign calling for justice in the police killing of George Floyd.<\/p>\n

The axe served as a handle and was duct-taped to the sign, which read, \u201cBoomers asked 4 justice, millennials demand justice.\u201d The man was also carrying a small knife in his backpack, police said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe respect the right to peacefully protest, but remain vigilant for these type of threats,\u201d the NYPD tweeted.<\/p>\n

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was arrested by 10th Precinct Anti-Crime officers assigned to monitor protests at East 17th and University Place, law enforcement sources told The Post.<\/p>\n

He faces at least two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.<\/p>\n
