With a focus on addiction and recovery, the inaugural episode debuted on September 28 featuring special guest Brandon Novak, who rose to notoriety as a skateboarder, best friend of Bam Margera and co-star of the<em> Jackass<\/em> film franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Danny Boy of House of Pain told his story in Episode 2 and Royce Da 5\u20199 made an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance for Episode 3, which aired on Wednesday (October 13). During the conversation, Royce Da 5\u20199 opened up about his journey from struggling alcoholic to sobriety.<\/p>\n<p>Somewhere along the way, he wound up serving jail time after being busted for yet another DUI. As Royce left that morning for court, he thought he would be home shortly \u2014 but he was wrong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI made everything more difficult,\u201d he admits around the 17:30-mark. \u201cI turned everything into the long way. It just got to a point where I got DUIs, like a lot of drinking and driving, so I end up going to jail for a year. I was leaving the house, like I think I gave my son a high-five, thinking I\u2019m going to another day in court. My lawyer told me I\u2019d be fine, I was like, \u2018Yeah, I\u2019ll be right back.\u2019 I came back a year later.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/episode\/0j2xPfgdxypCJCKNXaMnhv\" width=\"100%\" height=\"232\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Royce Da 5\u20199\u2019s attorney was confident he\u2019d walk without any jail time, which translated into Royce feeling like it would just be a quick court appearance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prosecuting attorney recommended probation, but the judge was like, \u2018No, I\u2019m going to do that,&#8217;\u201d he explains. \u201cShe said, \u2018Mr. Montgomery, do have anything to say before I sentence you?\u2019 I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t have much to say your honor. I\u2019m sorry,\u2019 whatever I said. Whatever it was, it wasn\u2019t good enough. It wouldn\u2019t have mattered anyway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSwifty, she was referring to, \u2018I just put one of y\u2019all in jail\u2019 \u2014 and then she referred to Proof \u2014 \u2018and the other one just died.\u2019 She was like, \u2018Now I got you here. You just got two of these in a row.\u2019 She was like, \u2018I gotta shut you down, sir.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018I\u2019m sure alcohol and drugs are free-flowing in your business and you can\u2019t seem to control yourself so I gotta shut you down, so I\u2019m going to give you the maximum amount of time, and that\u2019s 365 days in jail. Step up to the bailiff.\u2019 And my lawyer started stuttering, \u2018Your honor, do you think we can talk about work release?\u2019 She was like, \u2018Not at this time.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Royce 5&#039;9&quot;: Tiny Desk (Home) Concert\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ywicdvAo5AQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Wearing a three-piece suit, Royce was cuffed and hauled off to his cell where he was smacked in the face with a healthy dose of reality. But that year also gave him ample time to do some soul-searching.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat whole process gave me the opportunity to get some of the best sleep I ever got,\u201d he says. \u201cIt gave me the opportunity to not be in control of the speed at which things were going. It made everything slow down. It made me do some thinking, be alone. Once I accepted the fact I was going to be there for a minute, it became easy. The time just started flying by. A lot of people drew their line in the sand, relationship-wise, and showed me who they were, which was necessary in that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After Royce was released from jail in 2007, he got right back to work and soon formed Slaughterhouse with Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden and KXNG Crooked then Bad Meets Evil with Eminem. But he didn\u2019t stop drinking until five years later when he finally decided enough was enough. That fateful day, he checked himself into a hospital, spent the night with an IV in his arm and hasn\u2019t had a drink since.<\/p>\n<p>With the help of a 12-step program, therapy and support from his wife and friends like Eminem, Royce has been sober since 2012.\u00a0Royce celebrated his nine-year sobriety anniversary on September 12 with a simple Instagram post that read, \u201c9 Years (3287 days total).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Check out the full episode of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/listen.sonymusic-podcasts.link\/breaking\"><em>Breaking Anonymity<\/em> <\/a>with Royce Da 5\u20199 above.
