Publishers are stating that some of their games are now unavailable on the Steam platform. This is because they have used NFTs or have built their games on the blockchain.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_new_rules_under_%E2%80%9CWhat_you_shouldnt_publish_on_Steam%E2%80%9D_states_that_%E2%80%9Capplications_built_on_blockchain_technology_that_issue_or_allow_the_exchange_of_cryptocurrencies_or_NFTs%E2%80%9D_will_not_be_allowed_to_be_distributed_on_the_platform\"><\/span><strong>The new rules under <span style=\"color: #008080\">\u201cWhat you shouldn\u2019t publish on Steam\u201d<\/span> states that \u201capplications built on blockchain technology that issue or allow the exchange of cryptocurrencies or NFTs\u201d will not be allowed to be distributed on the platform.<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Age of Rust, which is a game where players collect NFTs in the game, has stated on its <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> page that \u201cSteam will be kicking all blockchain games off the platform, including <em>Age Of Rust<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Community: A few minutes ago, we were notified that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Steam?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Steam<\/a> will be kicking *all blockchain games* off the platform, including Age of Rust, because NFTs have value. For instance, Mir4, even with its \u201cboring gameplay\u201d, allows players to actually earn cryptocurrency in-game.<\/p>\n<p>Valve Corp. has not made any official statements regarding this move, except the change in rules and guidelines itself. The move can be in connection with the gambling laws in Washington state (Valve\u2019s headquarters).
