href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/amazon-scooped-up-data-from-its-own-sellers-to-launch-competing-products-11587650015\">reporting from the Wall Street Journal<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/themarkup.org\/amazons-advantage\/2021\/10\/14\/amazon-puts-its-own-brands-first-above-better-rated-products\">the Markup about Amazon\u2019s private-label business<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An Amazon spokesperson denied that Bezos lied to Congress and said <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Statements made by all four executives have been contradicted by recent media reports, the lawmakers said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When Bezos testified in Congress last year, he said the e-commerce giant has a rule prohibiting its employees from using data on third-party sellers to help its private-label business.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we found someone violated it, we would take action,\u201d said Bezos, who was Amazon CEO at the time but has since stepped down.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon is currently squaring off against antitrust regulators in the US, European Union and India, who are all investigating the company for allegedly using its size to squash competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the US, Federal Trade Commission chief Lina Khan wrote in a 2017 paper that Amazon\u2019s private-brand business raises competition concerns.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is third-party sellers who bear the initial costs and uncertainties when introducing new products; by merely spotting them, Amazon gets to sell products only once their success has been tested,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThe anticompetitive implications here seem clear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amazon, meanwhile, has\u00a0called on Khan to recuse herself from any investigations of the company\u00a0because she has written critically about it in the past.\u00a0\n
