Most people take that to mean highlighting one horror movie a day, but here at FSR, we\u2019ve taken that up a spooky notch or nine by celebrating each day with a top ten list. This article about the creepiest horror movie puppets is part of our ongoing <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> &lt;strong&gt;31 Days of Horror Lists&lt;\/strong&gt;.&lt;\/em&gt;\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<hr\/>\n<p>Tiny pretend people. If their life comes from something other than a hand up their back, I want nothing to do with them. When they spring into being within a horror film, their supernatural scurrying sends shivers through my system in a fashion unlike any other scary movie jolt. They represent existence where there should be none, toys made for our pleasure who revolt against our mastery\u2014puppets as symbols of our inevitable collapse from the top of the food chain. We must squash every doll today so they may not rise up tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>The Boo Crew, consisting of\u00a0Chris\u00a0Coffel, Rob\u00a0Hunter, Mary Beth McAndrews, Meg Shields,\u00a0Anna Swanson,\u00a0Jacob Trussell,\u00a0and myself, have assembled the usual suspects. Yes, Chucky will <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear (but maybe not in the position you would think). However, we\u2019re not ready to bow to the obvious marionettes either, and you\u2019ll discover diabolical puppets you\u2019ve probably not yet considered. This is good. We need to control the narrative. We can\u2019t let these little scrabblers get the upper hand.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"10_Dead_of_Night_1945\"><\/span>10. Dead of Night (1945)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-368068\" src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Dead-of-Night-Puppets.jpg\" alt=\"Dead Of Night Puppets\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Dead-of-Night-Puppets.jpg 800w, https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Dead-of-Night-Puppets-768x480.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where would spooky puppets be if not for Hugo, the dummy strapped to the arm of ventriloquist Maxwell Frere (<strong>Michael Redgrave<\/strong>) in the anthology film <\/span><strong><i>Dead of Night<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? \u201cThe Ventriloquist\u2019s Dummy\u201d is the most celebrated segment in the anthology film, thanks in no small part to the one-two punch of Redgrave\u2019s performance <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the uncanny quality of Hugo. Redgrave does the heavy lifting tying his character into knots of anxiety, but it\u2019s Hugo and his wooden grin and piercing voice that keeps surfacing the creeps over 80 years later. If it weren\u2019t for Hugo, we would never have seen Cliff Robertson lose his marbles in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Twilight Zone<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> episode \u201cThe Dummy,\u201d nor would we have gotten arguably Anthony Hopkins\u2019 best performance as the dual characters of Corky and Fats in Richard Attenborough\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Magic<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. (Jacob Trussell)<\/span><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"9_Childs_Play_1988\"><\/span>9. Child\u2019s Play (1988)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-368069\" src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Childs-Play.jpg\" alt=\"Child's Play\" width=\"800\" height=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Childs-Play.jpg 800w, https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Childs-Play-768x430.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What the hell? How is Chucky so far down this list? I really need to discuss this slight with the rest of my Boo Crew associates. This little Good Guy is the king of evil dolls as far as I\u2019m concerned. He\u2019s a vicious response to the Cabbage Patch Kids craze of the 1980s, taking the Garbage Pail Kids mockery one step further into the homicidal. <strong>Brad Dourif<\/strong>\u2019s puppet-trapped serial killer pretends that he wants out of his circumstance and into the body of a real-live boy, but he\u2019s never been happier in his work than he is here as the predatory Pinocchio. <\/span><strong><i>Child\u2019s Play<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a demented slasher that stands weirdly outside most horror movie franchises, but Chucky deserves the same respect as Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Jason Voorhees. He may be small, but his body count is as equally impressive as those other killer cats. (Brad Gullickson)<\/span><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"8_Krampus_2015\"><\/span>8. Krampus (2015)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-368071\" src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Krampus-Der-Klown.jpg\" alt=\"Krampus Der Klown\" width=\"800\" height=\"491\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Krampus-Der-Klown.jpg 800w, https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Krampus-Der-Klown-768x471.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019re going to find a lot of clown puppets on this list of the best horror movie puppets. Dolls that come to life are scary. Clowns are scary. Smash them together, and you\u2019ve got pure nightmare fuel. Der Klown in <\/span><strong><i>Krampus<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> doesn\u2019t merely rely on his creepy state of being; he throws in a few added bits to deliver that zhuzh. One, he\u2019s a Jack-in-the-Box, providing a boost of a surprise to an already terrifying encounter, which also transforms his torso into a tentacle of sorts. Two, his mouth doesn\u2019t crack the usual smile; it splits vertically as well as horizontally. Jesus Christ, no thanks to that. Der Klown\u2019s hard expression also implies a much more ferocious face beneath the one he\u2019s presenting. He\u2019s a puppet, but one built upon demonic flesh. There\u2019s an evil heart that beats beneath that costume, proving his actions come with treacherous intention. Saw (2004)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-368072\" src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Saw-Billy-the-Puppet.jpg\" alt=\"Saw Billy The Puppet\" width=\"800\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Saw-Billy-the-Puppet.jpg 800w, https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Saw-Billy-the-Puppet-768x427.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What\u2019s the deal with Billy? The puppet only makes the loosest sense as the emissary for John Kramer\u2019s life or death traps. <strong>Tobin Bell<\/strong>\u2019s philosopher killer doesn\u2019t really seem like the gothy clown type, but there\u2019s some hidden part to his personality that birthed this horrendous doll, and after seven films and a few reboots, we still have never met that side of him. But that\u2019s okay; we all deserve our mysterious affectations. Whatever inspires Kramer to build his traps is between him and his inevitable oblivion. Kramer is like the rest of us. He\u2019s seen plenty of movies. He knows he needs his gimmick, and that\u2019s Billy. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-368073\" src=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Nightmare-on-Elm-Street-3.jpg\" alt=\"Nightmare On Elm Street\" width=\"800\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Nightmare-on-Elm-Street-3.jpg 800w, https:\/\/filmschoolrejects.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Nightmare-on-Elm-Street-3-768x408.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\"\/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, there are a lot of creepily-made horror movie puppets on this list. But what about human puppets? Well, <strong><em>A Nightmare on Elm Street 3<\/em>: <em>Dream Warriors<\/em><\/strong> has them both, and it\u2019s traumatizing, to say the least. First, Krueger transforms into one of the marionette puppets owned by Phillip, one of the patients at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital. It\u2019s an impressive moment of stop-motion claymation that shows Krueger\u2019s face slowly emerging from a lump of clay. Then, as he manifests into Phillip\u2019s room, he slices open his wrists and legs, pulling out tendons to make Phillip one of his beloved puppets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s an absolute hellish nightmare to watch Phillip be dragged down the hall by his body parts in the hands of the bladed villain. He screams in agony as he can do little to stop his fate. Krueger then throws Phillip off the roof of the hospital to make it look like a suicide. The kicker: the \u201cpuppet strings\u201d are only in Phillip\u2019s dreams, so no one can see what puppet master Krueger is doing to the poor boy.
