\nPHILIPPINES \u2013 <\/span> JRLDM is not one to shy away from exploring heavy theme<\/a>s related to the human condition. His latest single, \u201cLason\u201d (Poison), delves into the psyche of an alcohol-dependent person.<\/p>\n

He tells in a pre-release listening session that the theme of \u201cLason\u201d\u2014which JRLDM wrote and produced\u2014alludes to his own relationship with alcohol. The muted yet striking Gian Mawo-helmed visual follow JRLDM as he sinks deeper into the bottle, going into alcohol-induced hallucination and paranoia.<\/p>\n

But more than anything, \u201cLason\u201d also articulates a general<\/a> yet palpable sense of how depression looks and feels like: sleeplessness (\u201cMaguumaga na \/ pero \u2018di pa ako tulog,\u201d<\/em> which translates to \u201cIt\u2019s almost morning \/ but I\u2019m not yet asleep), inability to feel joy, and in JRLDM\u2019s case, turning to alcohol.<\/p>\n
