If you want to go a step further with this data, continue on.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_View_Edit_and_Remove_Advanced_EXIF_Data_on_Android\"><\/span>How to View, Edit, and Remove Advanced EXIF Data on Android<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you want to see more information about your photos\u2014or want to remove data\u2014you\u2019ll have to look outside of Android\u2019s native capabilities and turn to the Play Store.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll be using an app called <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=net.xnano.android.photoexifeditor&amp;hl=en\">Photo EXIF Editor<\/a> for this. There\u2019s a free download available, but if you find yourself using it often, you may want to check out <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=net.xnano.android.photoexifeditor.pro&amp;hl=en\">the Pro version<\/a> of the app ($1.99), which removes ads and adds the option to show full raw data.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have Photo EXIF Editor\u00a0installed, fire it up. You\u2019ll be greeted by a pleasant-looking startup screen with three options: \u201cPhotos,\u201d \u201cPhoto Map,\u201d and \u201cBrowse.\u201d Tap \u201cPhotos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-761660\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/2021-10-14_16-08-35.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"Open &quot;Photos.&quot;\" width=\"451\" height=\"251\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The photos view defaults to the \u201cRecent\u201d menu, which opens all pictures recently taken on or added to the device. If you\u2019d like to hide the data that\u2019s unavailable, tap the little eyeball icon in the top right corner. Just tap the checkbox next to the data you\u2019d like to remove. Easy peasy.<\/p>\n<p>EXIF data can certainly be useful to have around. It\u2019s nice knowing when and where a picture was taken, for example. But it\u2019s also the kind of data you might want to take a moment to remove before you share a photo publicly.
