{"id":355051,"date":"2021-10-19T20:26:18","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T17:26:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/wall-streets-city-wide-puzzle-compass-raises-over-1m-for-charity\/"},"modified":"2021-10-19T20:26:18","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T17:26:18","slug":"wall-streets-city-wide-puzzle-compass-raises-over-1m-for-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/wall-streets-city-wide-puzzle-compass-raises-over-1m-for-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"#Wall Street&#8217;s city-wide puzzle Compass raises over $1M for charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Wall Street&#8217;s city-wide puzzle Compass raises over $1M for charity<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Wall Street\u2019s brightest minds battled it out on Saturday by hitting multiple locations around NYC to solve intricate, immersive puzzles, while raising more than $1 million for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/goodshepherds.org\/\">charity Good Shepherd.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Bridgewater Capital, Element Capital (which sponsored the event), PDT Partners, Barclays, BNP Paribas, and more offered up brainy employees, paying $30,000 a team, for the event called Compass.<\/p>\n<p>Running for over 14 hours and ending at 4 a.m., analysts, quants, and math savants ran around to locations including Papillion restaurant, RPM Underground karaoke bar, and the Museum of Art and Design to decode and decipher elaborate clues in a murder mystery.<\/p>\n<p>In one puzzle, a tap dancer clacked away on multiple screens at Spyspace, the city\u2019s museum dedicated, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriately, to spycraft. In second was a team comprised of employees from Google and Two Sigma, who <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a>ed in for the event.<\/p>\n<p>Puzzle gods Colin Teichholtz and Ben Hoffstein, both on the board of the charity, co-organized and helped design the large-scale event with help from production company Gotham Immersive Labs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think sometimes Wall Street people are completely misunderstood,\u201d Teicholtz tells us. \u201cMost of the people I know who have been really successful love what they do, love solving the puzzles that always come up in markets. It\u2019s no surprise to me that those same people love solving the crazy complicated puzzles we create for them in Compass. So seeing over 140 people at the starting line, excited to be together and ready to take on the gauntlet of puzzles was extremely gratifying.
