Razer is one of the first names in the PC peripheral space. The company has just announced<\/a> a new gaming headset called the\u00a0Kraken V3 that features haptic vibrations designed to help create a more immersive gaming experience.<\/p>\n

At least, that\u2019s the idea behind them, but in reality, they seem like they\u2019d be more annoying than anything. Vibrations around the ears seem like they\u2019d tickle more than anything else.<\/p>\n

The headset uses what Razer calls\u00a0HyperSense technology<\/a>. It takes the audio from a game<\/a> and converts it into haptic vibrations that\u2019ll help you feel your game a little more than you would otherwise. The technology<\/a> sounds quite sensitive as it can increase or decrease the intensity of vibrations based on the distance between you and an event in a game.<\/p>\n

Game developers don\u2019t need to do anything to make this work and there\u2019s no app<\/a> to install. Instead, there just needs to be sound, and Razer\u2019s\u00a0HyperSense will do the rest. That means you can also use it while watching movies<\/a> if you want to tickle your ears with vibrations all the time.<\/p>\n

The headset also comes with\u00a0THX spatial audio,\u00a050mm drivers, a detachable\u00a0Razer HyperClear cardioid mic, and the\u00a0Chroma RGB lighting we\u2019ve all come to expect from gaming peripherals.<\/p>\n

There are three versions of the headset<\/a>\u2014the\u00a0$200 Pro version with wireless support for\u00a0PC, PlayStation, or a docked Nintendo Switch. It also has a 3.5mm port that can be used with just about anything. The cheaper USB version costs\u00a0$130, and a USB-toting Kraken V3 without HyperSense for $100.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
