M&amp;M\u2019s first hit shelves in 1941, Bazooka bubble gum began in 1947, Almond Joys were born in 1948, and Smarties started in 1949, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/food-drink\/halloween-candy-debuted-decade-born\">Fox reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1950s\"><\/span>1950s<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The post-World War II years were the birth time of two non-chocolate favorites: cinnamon-flavored Hot Tamales came out in 1950, and Pixy Stix in 1952.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1960s\"><\/span>1960s<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In a decade defined by hippies and the counterculture, three candy favorites also came onto the scene. Starbursts were introduced in the UK in 1960, initially going by the name of Opal Fruits and hitting US markets closer to the end of the decade, in 1967.
