{"id":358242,"date":"2021-10-26T18:17:33","date_gmt":"2021-10-26T15:17:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/trump-spac-targeted-by-iceberg-research-after-massive-rally\/"},"modified":"2021-10-26T18:17:33","modified_gmt":"2021-10-26T15:17:33","slug":"trump-spac-targeted-by-iceberg-research-after-massive-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/trump-spac-targeted-by-iceberg-research-after-massive-rally\/","title":{"rendered":"#Trump SPAC targeted by Iceberg Research after massive rally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Trump SPAC targeted by Iceberg Research after massive rally<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>The special purpose acquisition company that plans to take\u00a0former President Donald Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> venture public is now the target of short-seller Iceberg Research \u2014 despite the stock\u2019s huge rally last week.<\/p>\n<p>The firm announced its bet against the Trump SPAC, Digital World Acquisition Corp., in a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of tweets Monday, saying Trump could seek to secure a better deal for his media company in a renegotiation of the merger. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are short $DWAC,\u201d Iceberg\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IcebergResear\/status\/1452699920641650690\">said in a tweet<\/a>. \u201cNow that initial excitement has passed, we see only risks for investors in near future. Based on Trump\u2019s track record, at current price, renegotiation is likely to keep more of the merged company for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo opinion on the probability of success of TMTG. But SPAC holders don\u2019t own a piece of this project yet. Trump has leverage, not them,\u201d the firm added in a second tweet.<\/p>\n<p>The SPAC \u2014 a so-called blank-check company that\u2019s formed and goes public to raise money to fund an acquisition of a private company, which will then take its place on the markets \u2014 announced Wednesday evening that it plans to\u00a0merge with Trump\u2019s new social media company.<\/p>\n<p>The stock soared more than 1,000 percent in the days following the announcement, driven largely by interest from amateur traders. <\/p>\n<p>Shares of the SPAC finished trading Monday nearly 11 percent lower after Iceberg announced it was betting against the stock, but the stock\u2019s still up more than 500 percent since before the merger with Trump\u2019s media company was announced.<\/p>\n<p>Shares of DWAC were more than 5 percent higher in premarket trading on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">No opinion on the probability of success of TMTG.
