Phil Murphy, it\u2019s Jack Ciattarelli, a former state legislator and small-business owner, with a plan to drive down the cost of living.<\/p>\n<p>The husky-voiced, Sinatra-esque Republican is targeting Murphy squarely on economic grounds, but also on the governor\u2019s uber-liberal authoritarian bent, his reported secret vaccine mandate and woke brainwashing in schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not teaching sodomy in sixth grade,\u201d Ciattarelli put it bluntly this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Ciattarelli, 59, paints Murphy, a former Goldman Sachs multimillionaire, as \u201cout of touch and tone deaf\u201d with the concerns of voters.<\/p>\n<p>He likes to say that New Jerseyans are \u201cfiscally conservative and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a>ly moderate,\u201d so it doesn\u2019t hurt that he once called Donald Trump a \u201ccharlatan\u201d but <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lauded his policies as good for the country.<\/p>\n<p>The number one issue is the soaring cost of living, and New Jersey\u2019s taxes are the highest in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The average Jersey property-tax bill hit $9,112 last year, twice the national average. Someone who owns a $400,000 house in Bridgewater or Parsippany pays $15,000.<\/p>\n<p>This hefty burden is cited in surveys as a chief reason for retirees leaving the state and a disincentive for corporations to relocate there.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy, 64, has been remarkably insouciant about the problem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re a one-issue voter, and tax rate is your issue,\u201d he said in 2019, \u201cwe\u2019re probably not your state.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Phil-Murphy-2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has choked out small businesses owners with his authoritarian lockdowns and skyhigh taxes.<br \/>\n<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP Photo\/Frank Franklin II, Pool<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ciattarelli made the gaffe the centerpiece of a sharp, biting ad campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho says that?\u201d he asks. \u201cHigh taxes are the reason why young people can\u2019t afford to get started here, and why our grandparents are forced to leave.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Ciattarelli was growing up, \u201cNew Jersey\u2019s economy was the envy of the other 49 states. We had the greatest numbers of Fortune 500 companies headquartered here, property taxes were reasonable and owning your own business was an American dream that could come true. That is not the case today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He points to an exodus of businesses from the state under Murphy. Nabisco moved out of Bergen County in July after 63 years.<\/p>\n<p>The same goes for Honeywell, Mercedes Benz and the US Golf Association.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt pains me that states like Delaware, Pennsylvania, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and Texas are eating our lunch,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>His plan is to fix the \u201carbitrary and unfair\u201d state school-funding formula that drives up property taxes, halve the highest corporate tax rate in the country over five years, adopt Delaware bylaws for corporate governance, and make the first $50,000 of small-business income tax-free.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Murphy2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Gov. Phil Murphy is maskless at a teachers union fundraising event in spite of his strict mask mandates in New Jersey schools.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Essex County Educators Association<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe need to stop burdening small business with excessive regulations that make their success next to impossible,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Ciattarelli, whose grandparents immigrated to New Jersey from \u00adItaly 100 years ago, grew up in Raritan and raised four children in Somerset County with his wife of 27 years, Melinda.<\/p>\n<p>His parents owned a local restaurant, Anthony\u2019s, and the experience led him to become a small-business owner, founding two thriving medical-publishing companies. He became a Raritan councilman in 1990 before becoming a commissioner in Somerset County and serving in the state <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> assembly from 2011 to 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand New Jersey .\u2009.\u2009. I\u2019ve worked in municipal, county and state government so I have a unique perspective on all that\u2019s broken and how best to fix it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Murphy has plenty of vulnerabilities to exploit, not least the worst pandemic record of any governor. New Jersey had the highest rate of COVID deaths, higher even than New York. While Andrew Cuomo was rightly excoriated for his betrayal of nursing-home residents, across the Hudson River, Murphy had even more blood on his hands.<\/p>\n<p>His administration was warned explicitly by nursing-home operators in recorded phone calls \u2014 which Ciattarelli has liberally sprinkled in his ads \u2014 that ordering nursing homes to admit COVID-infected patients would lead to unnecessary deaths. Phil Murphy\u2019s lockdown orders in Bellmawr, New Jersey last year.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Stephen Yang<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ciattarelli also faults Murphy\u2019s capricious pandemic lockdown orders that \u201cinfuriated business owners, particularly on Main Street.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you had a jewelry store, he closed you down as nonessential, but the jewelry counter at Costco\u2019s stayed open,\u201d the GOPer said.<\/p>\n<p>Then there are the bombshell videos released this week by Project Veritas in which Murphy campaign staffers disclose that the governor is hiding plans to implement a vaccine mandate and give millions of dollars to illegal migrants after the election.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy campaign adviser Wendy Martinez tells an undercover reporter that the governor will implement vaccine mandates, \u201cbut he couldn\u2019t do it before the elections, because of the independents and the undecided .\u2009.\u2009. because they\u2019re all into the s\u2013t, my rights, my s-\u200a-t .\u2009.\u2009. Right now is about him winning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another Murphy staffer, \u200bMatthew Urquijo, was caught on camera saying: \u201cOnce you know we have a win he\u2019s like \u2018all right, guns blazing, like who cares? I\u2019m in it, let\u2019s do the mandates.\u2019\u2009\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In another video released Wednesday, Martinez is recorded saying Murphy will wait until after the election to give millions more in aid to illegal aliens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to get him elected first .\u2009.\u2009. I strongly encourage people to get vaccinated, but I do not believe government has a right to tell people they have to take a vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He says if the Project Veritas report is accurate, Murphy is guilty of \u201cthe ultimate hypocrisy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Republican voters will need to come out in force Tuesday to give Ciattarelli a chance of winning.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy was ahead by 16 points with registered voters in an August Monmouth poll, 52-36 percent. Ciattarelli had managed to close the gap to six points last week in an Emerson College poll, 50-44 percent.<\/p>\n<p>By Wednesday, a Monmouth poll showed Murphy ahead by 11.<\/p>\n<p>But in a state Biden won by 16 points, and where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by 1.1 million, win or lose, the fact the race is this close has ominous implications for Democrats next year.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
