Henry Cuellar supported Joe Biden in his bid for office, the Texas Democrat now believes the president has surrounded himself with the wrong people to combat the crisis at the southern border.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance on the Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a> podcast, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/cuellar-biden-immigration-activists-border-patrol-police-texas-communities\">\u201cThe Brian Kilmeade Show,\u201d<\/a> Cuellar said Biden has been listening too much to \u201cimmigration activist\u201d and not enough to those down at the border, such as local law enforcement and land owners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bottom line is I supported Joe Biden for president. He was the most centrist candidate running but the problem, in my opinion, is that he has surrounded himself, at least on the immigration issue, with people that have backgrounds in \u2013 I would call them immigration activists \u2014 and they\u2019re giving their perspective and the problem is that\u2019s only one perspective,\u201d Cuellar said, adding \u201cWhat about the perspective of the border communities?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Democrat proceeded to call the administration\u2019s response \u201cone-sided,\u201d saying someone has to have the backs of the people along the border.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat about the landowners? I got a call from this landowner two days ago. He was so frustrated. Somebody has to have their back and when you have the political people that are giving advice to the administration, that is only one-sided.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cuellar has been very critical of the Biden administration\u2019s response to the border crisis in the past, and called on Biden to visit the U.S.-Mexico region this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he needs to understand what\u2019s happening,\u201d Cuellar told Fox News host Neil Cavuto. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe needs to listen not only to the immigration activists, but he needs to listen to our border communities \u2026 They need to listen to the judges, to the mayors, to the public officials, the landowners down there, and they also need to listen to the men and women in green and blue. Those are the people in the front line and we need to have their backs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In recent weeks, many have questioned if Biden has ever visited the border during his political career.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki touted the president\u2019s visits to Mexico and Central America, noting that people crossing the border are coming from those areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/biden-immigration-cuellar-2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1024\" alt=\"Immigrant detainees are seen behind a clear divider in a tented room.\" class=\"wp-image-19970921\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/biden-immigration-cuellar-2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/biden-immigration-cuellar-2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/biden-immigration-cuellar-2.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>This Mar. 2021 photo provided by the Office of Congressman Henry Cuellar, (TX-28), shows detainees in a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) temporary overflow facility in Donna, Texas. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She also claimed that Biden visited the border when driving through El Paso in 2008.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you may have seen, there\u2019s been reporting that he did drive through the border when he was on the campaign trail in 2008,\u201d Psaki said, appearing to refer to<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/22\/biden-said-hes-been-southern-border-before-it-was-drive-by\/\"> a Washington Post report published shortly<\/a> before the briefing that cited the drive-by.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd he is certainly familiar with the fact \u2014 and it stuck with him \u2014 with that fact that in El Paso, the border goes right through the center of town.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This summer, Vice President Kamala Harris made similar <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>s to Mexico and Central America that Biden did during his vice presidency, however last month, Cuellar said the trips had no impact.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith all due respect, no,\u201d Cuellar told CNN host Erica Hill, when asked what impact the June visit to Mexico and Guatemala had on migration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, you know, we\u2019ve been providing assistance to Central America since 2014. I was involved with Kay Granger and then at that time Vice President Joe Biden to provide the first $750 million to the Central American countries,\u201d he continued, referring to the Republican congresswoman from Texas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think since then it\u2019s been over $3.5 billion that we have appropriated.
