{"id":360758,"date":"2021-11-01T04:05:52","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T01:05:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/suffolk-hiring-over-700-cops-including-possible-nypd-officers\/"},"modified":"2021-11-01T04:05:52","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T01:05:52","slug":"suffolk-hiring-over-700-cops-including-possible-nypd-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/suffolk-hiring-over-700-cops-including-possible-nypd-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"#Suffolk hiring over 700 cops, including possible NYPD officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Suffolk hiring over 700 cops, including possible NYPD officers<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n        <\/aside>\n<p>Suffolk County is set to dramatically boost its police ranks \u2014 including by potentially siphoning off cops from the NYPD who are furious over the Big <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic County Executive Steve Bellone will announce Monday that he is hiring 705 law-enforcement personnel, bucking the \u201cdefund the police\u2019 movement in his own party, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the largest one-year increase in law-enforcement personnel in Suffolk County history,\u2019\u2019 said Bellone, who is eyeing a run for governor, to The Post on Sunday. \u201cWe have opposed the slogan, \u201cDefund the Police.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Suffolk\u2019s gain could be the NYPD\u2019s pain \u2014 as scores of Big Apple officers are furious over Mayor Bill de Blasio\u2019s vaccine requirement for city workers, including police, by Monday. <\/p>\n<p>Suffolk County cops are not required to get the shot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe [NYPD cops] who don\u2019t want to get vaccinated, they\u2019re going to run to Suffolk County,\u2019\u2019 a longtime city policeman told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year NYPD veteran said the fact that Suffolk cops don\u2019t need to get the vaccine is just the cherry on the top of reasons to defect to Long Island.<\/p>\n<p>Starting pay for both NYPD and Suffolk cops is currently about $42,000 \u2014 but while city cops max out at $86,000 annually, the Long Island officers\u2019 wages nearly double, to $155,600, after 11.5 years of service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuffolk County?
