“#Filmmaker Halyna Hutchins’ Final Words After Rust Set Accidental Shooting Have Been Revealed

\nMore information continues to come out about the tragic accidental shooting death of cinematographer\u00a0Halyna Hutchins<\/strong> on the New Mexico-based set of the western movie\u00a0Rust<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the\u00a0Los Angeles Times<\/em> published an in-depth piece on some of the final moments of Hutchins\u2019 life. As we\u2019ve been reporting, she was accidentally shot and killed earlier this month with a prop gun fired by actor\u00a0Alec Baldwin<\/strong> while the cast and crew were rehearsing for what was supposed to be a shoot-out scene in a church.<\/p>\n

According to the\u00a0Times<\/em>, Hutchins had the wherewithal to speak to a boom operator immedia<\/a>tely after being struck by the bullet that Baldwin had unknowingly fired.<\/p>\n

Per the report, her final words were actually a reply to what the boom operator said to\u00a0her<\/em> as the incident occurred, and after he had seen the soon-to-be fatal injury that she sustained.<\/p>\n

The talented young filmmaker said (below):<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was no good. That was no good at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At that point, someone else shouted for a medic and help rushed to her aid. Hutchins app<\/a>arently stumbled back and fell into the arms of a gaffer, as well as those of director\u00a0Joel Souza<\/strong>. Of course, Souza was also injured by the fired bullet.<\/p>\n

According to the\u00a0Times<\/em>, Souza said \u201csomething along the lines of\u201d this comment (below):<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat the f**k was that? That burns!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And Baldwin, also understandably shocked and trying to process what had happened seconds before, added:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat the f**k just happened?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We can\u2019t even imagine what this must have been like on set.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s becoming increasingly clear that Baldwin really<\/em> didn\u2019t expect the gun to have any live rounds or projectiles inside.<\/p>\n

In fact, immediately prior to the shooting, during blocking for their rehearsal, Alec was reportedly handed the gun by assistant director\u00a0Dave Halls<\/strong>, who had declared that the gun was \u201ccold.\u201d At that point, while discussing his on-camera movements with the film crew, the 30 Rock<\/em> star\u00a0reportedly said:<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I guess I\u2019m gonna take this out, pull it out and go, \u2018Bang!’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And then, of course, tragedy struck.<\/p>\n

Reports have previously come out suggesting that Halls and others on set did not definitively check the gun to make sure there was no ammunition inside at the time of the rehearsal. Ugh\u2026<\/p>\n

Authorities in Santa Fe continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and, per\u00a0TMZ<\/em>, \u201chave not ruled out criminal charges against anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baldwin, who spoke to the paparazzi earlier and confirmed he was cooperating with the Sheriff\u2019s Office, has since gone to Vermont with his family to grieve and recover from this tragedy in privacy.<\/p>\n

We can\u2019t even begin to imagine how devastated Baldwin \u2014 and the rest of those on the\u00a0Rust<\/em> set \u2014 must be after this. Such a terrible tragedy.<\/p>\n
