While plenty of folks have likely dressed up for Halloween as the <em>Friday<\/em> characters before, there have been very few who catch the attention of Ice Cube.<\/p>\n<p>As the holiday got underway on Sunday (October 31), a group of people decided to emulate several different characters from the cult classic, and it wasn\u2019t long before Cube caught wind of their portrayals. On Monday (November 1), Cube shared a TikTok video of their costumes and wrote, \u201cBest party of the night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With Ice Cube\u2019s \u201cYou Can Do It\u201d playing in the background, the camera pans to each character: Craig, Smokey, Felicia, Joi, Deebo, Big Worm, Mrs. Betty Jones, Mr. Willie Jones, Day Day, Suga, Baby Joker, Baby D, Black Santa, Mrs. Pearly and finally, Damon Pearly.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Best party of the night <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5Ty4wasNmh\">https:\/\/t.co\/5Ty4wasNmh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ice Cube (@icecube) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/icecube\/status\/1455254013478256640?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 1, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><em>Friday<\/em> takes place in South Central Los Angeles and follows the chronically unemployed Craig around the city as he encounters all kinds of shenanigans. Although considered a \u201csleeper hit,\u201d the original film led to two sequels:\u00a0<em>Next Friday<\/em> (2000) and <em>Friday After Next<\/em> (2002). Cube ran into a snag with the film\u2019s fourth installment, <em>Last Friday,<\/em> which was reportedly green-lit in April 2017 but has yet to come to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>John Witherspoon, who played Pops, passed away\u00a0in October 2019, making the film\u2019s future even more uncertain. During his funeral, Cube partially explained why there was a holdup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really apologize to my friend for not getting the next\u00a0<em>Friday<\/em>\u00a0movie made,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s not my fault. Some dumb ass people in Hollywood at New Line Cinema, if you wanna \u2026 you can email Toby Emmerich and Richard Brener if you feel like I feel. Yeah, you punks had two scripts and you didn\u2019t wanna do them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the real. We were tryin\u2019 to make that movie for years and we couldn\u2019t get it done.
