A new Twitter<\/a> account launched to announce that Yuki Sato\u2019s Tomodachi Game (Friends Games)<\/em> manga will receive a TV anime adaptation to premiere in April 2022. The anime\u2019s staff and cast were also revealed alongside a key visual.<\/span><\/p>\n

The anime\u2019s staff includes Hirofumi Ogura<\/strong> (Cells at Work!, Black Butler II<\/em>) as director, Kenta Ihara<\/strong> (Saga of Tanya the Evil, Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy-)<\/em> as script<\/a> writer and supervisor, Satomi Miyazaki<\/strong> (Vinland Saga<\/em> animation director) as character designer, Tulip\u2019s Si Man Wei <\/strong>(Edens Zero<\/em>) as art director, Tulip\u2019s Tsukasa Ohira<\/strong> (No Game, No Life<\/em>) as art designer, Aiko Mizuno<\/strong> (Cells at Work!<\/em>) as color key artist, Yomogiko Murano<\/strong> (Attack on Titan The Final Season<\/em>) as director of photography, MICHIRU (Ascendance of a Bookworm<\/em>) as music composer, and Hiroto Morishita<\/strong> (Higurashi: When They Cry \u2013 Gou<\/em>) as sound director at studio Mouse. The animation production will be from Okuruto Noboru<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi<\/strong> as Yuichi Katagiri, Daiki Hamano<\/strong> as Tenji Mikasa, Yume Miyamoto<\/strong> as Shiho Sawaragi, Tomohiro Ono<\/strong> as Makoto Shibe, and Satomi Amano<\/strong> as Yutori Kokorogi.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Tomodachi Game<\/em> manga launched in Kodansha\u2019s Bessatsu Sh\u014dnen Magazine in December 2013 and entered its final arc in August 2020. Kodansha published the manga\u2019s 18th volume on June 9, and its 19th volume will release on November 9.<\/span><\/p>\n

The story, based on Mikoto Yamaguchi\u2019s original concept, centers on Y\u016bichi Katagiri, a young man with a perfect student life who has four friends with difficult lives. His peaceful daily life comes to an end when 2 million yen (about US$20,000) in school trip<\/a> fees goes missing. Riddles unfold as Y\u016bichi gets caught up in a mysterious game for money and must decide whether friendship or money matters more.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n
