\nThe Sanderson Sisters are back to put a spell on us once again!<\/p>\n

Halloween 2021 may be over, but we already have something to look forward to for next spooky season: Hocus Pocus 2<\/em>. As we previously reported, Disney<\/strong> greenlit a sequel to the Halloween classic, and all three witches \u2014 Bette Midler<\/strong>, Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong>, and Kathy Najimy<\/strong> \u2014 are on board for the new adventure.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Disney revealed that production on the new film had begun in Rhode Island, according to Entertainment Weekly<\/em>. In addition to the Sanderson Sisters, Doug Jones<\/strong> will also be reprising his role of Billy Butcherson (fans will remember him as the corpse resurrected by Winifred in the original).<\/p>\n

The new story reportedly picks up 29 years after the first film, when the witches were defeated by Max Dennison (Omri Katz<\/strong>), his sister Dani (Thora Birch<\/strong>), and crush Allison (Vinessa Shaw<\/strong>). Per EW<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cWinifred (Midler), Sarah (Parker), and Mary (Najimy) are now looking for revenge when they find themselves back in Salem in the present day. It\u2019s up to three high school students, who incite the wrath of the enchantresses, to stop them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The three teens (Becca, Cassie, and Izzy) will be played by Gossip Girl<\/em>\u2018s Whitney Peak<\/strong>, Dirt<\/em>\u2018s Lilia Buckingham<\/strong>, and American Horror Stories<\/em>\u2018 Belissa Escobedo<\/strong>. Other new additions to the cast include Hannah Waddingham<\/strong> (Ted Lasso<\/em>), Tony Hale<\/strong> and Sam Richardson<\/strong> (Veep<\/em>), Juju Brener<\/strong> (Vanquish<\/em>), Froy Gutierrez<\/strong> (Cruel Summer<\/em>), Taylor Henderson<\/strong> (Earwig and the Witch<\/em>), and newcomer Nina Kitchen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
