Libertarian: Media Keep Insulting Parents<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cNot a day goes by without the media comparing raucous school board meetings to the January 6 Capitol Hill riots, attributing the increase in parental outrage to racism,\u201d gripes Reason\u2019s Matt Welch<\/a>. \u201cFraming devices that distort the depiction of an important set of debates\u201d include \u201cexaggerating incidences of violence\u201d at school-board meetings (a tiny handful \u201cin a country of 14,000 or so school boards\u201d) and \u201cclaiming that parental outrage is a contrived, ginned-up \u2018culture war\u2019 untethered from real-world concerns.\u201d This \u201clopsided hyperbole and contempt\u201d is \u201can insult to every last one of us who has dragged ass out to the local school meeting because we care about policies affecting our kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conservative: Hypocritical Progressive Elites<\/strong><\/p>\n

In \u201ca social revolution in this country and the wider West in the past 50 years,\u201d writes The Wall Street Journal\u2019s Gerard Baker<\/a>, \u201cthe left \u2014 which used to represent the interests of the outsiders, the disadvantaged \u2014 is in almost total control of the institutions of the establishment.\u201d And \u201clike masters through most of history \u2014 from tribal chiefs to Roman patricians, absolutist monarchs and totalitarian tyrants \u2014 their superiority is such that the rules they make don\u2019t app<\/a>ly to them. They apply only to you, the unenlightened.\u201d When they lecture on the need for sacrifice to fight COVID or climate change, \u201cdon\u2019t think they\u2019re talking about themselves.\u201d \u201cIn the news<\/a>peak of progressive sanctimony, pronouns are different. .\u2009.\u2009. \u2018We\u2019 means you.\u201d<\/p>\n

From the left: Why the Media Went Woke<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe notion that America is an unrepentant white-supremacist state\u201d has gone mainstream this last decade, \u201clargely through liberal media outlets,\u201d Batya Ungar-Sargon argues at Common Sense.<\/a> Yet \u201cthe sudden market for this obsession with race and power\u201d has \u201ceverything to do with class\u201d as journalism has morphed into a high-status profession. It allows \u201cjournalists to pretend \u2014 indeed to believe \u2014 they are still speaking truth to power, still fighting on behalf of the little guy, even after they have themselves ascended to the ranks of the powerful, even when they are speaking down to an audience who, in more cases than not, have less than them on every measurable scale.\u201d Indeed, \u201ctheir enthusiasm for the language of wokeness has allowed affluent white liberals to perpetuate and even excuse a deeply unequal economic status quo.\u201d<\/p>\n

From the right: The F\u2019book Whistleblower Op<\/strong><\/p>\n

Frances Haugen joined Facebook \u201cin 2019 reportedly on the condition that she be assigned to its civic integrity unit, responsible for tracking \u2018misinformation\u2019 concerning the 2020 election,\u201d the very unit that later suppressed The Post\u2019s Hunter Biden laptop stories, Lee Smith notes at Tablet<\/a>, charging that she\u2019s now no whistleblower but \u201ca political operative engaged in a campaign of corporate espionage and information warfare.\u201d The purpose: \u201cto weaken or destroy the social network that progressive elites . . . see as the central node for conservative communications.\u201d Her chief consultant is Bill Burton, a former Obama deputy press secretary married to a top Democratic operative. And coverage of the so-called \u201cFacebook Papers\u201d is just \u201cBurton\u2019s team\u201d distributing \u201cprepackaged \u2018reports\u2019 to content providers who understand that their job is to print progressive elite talking points as news.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glasgow watch: Joe\u2019s Energy Gift to US Rivals<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Biden energy agenda being promoted across the globe is a win-win-win for U.S. rivals overseas,\u201d points out The Federalist\u2019s Tristan Justice<\/a>. The president\u2019s Build Back Better legislation, which he touted at the Glasgow climate summit, \u201cpours billions into subsidies and tax credits for unreliable wind and solar,\u201d which \u201cnot only promises to wreck the reliability of the U.S. power grid, as experienced in California and Texas with rolling blackouts, but also places heightened significance on Chinese imports.\u201d Europe \u201cimports much of its natural gas from Russia\u201d and 85 percent \u201cof China\u2019s power comes from fossil fuels as it remains the world\u2019s largest polluter with no intent of curbing its emissions,\u201d yet \u201cneither the Chinese or Russian president was in attendance at Glasgow.\u201d<\/p>\n
