As part of Apple\u2019s annual OS upgrade Shortcuts has finally made it onto Mac, accessible from the Applications folder once you\u2019ve <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/764011\/macos-monterey-is-here-and-you-can-download-it-now\/\">upgraded to macOS Monterey.<\/p>\n<p>You can use Shortcuts to create your own workflows, share them with the world, or simply download pre-existing workflows from the Gallery. On the iPhone the app enables users to combine images, trigger automations with AirTags, and even make your device scream when you plug it in.<\/p>\n<p>Shortcuts isn\u2019t as powerful as some of Apple\u2019s other automation tools, notably <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/guide\/automator\/welcome\/mac\">Automator<\/a>. It doesn\u2019t replace <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/library\/archive\/documentation\/AppleScript\/Conceptual\/AppleScriptLangGuide\/introduction\/ASLR_intro.html\">AppleScript<\/a> either, but it is more user-friendly. You can even <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/702876\/how-to-use-shortcuts-on-apple-watch\/\">trigger shortcuts from an Apple Watch if you have one.<\/p>\n<p>Automator is a step up, offering powerful workflows that are designed specifically for Mac.
