By logging into their wallets, MetaMask users will have the ability to send and receive cryptocurrency payments directly through the payment gateway. <\/p>\n<p>Merchants wishing to accept payments through Bitfinex Pay must first register an account and verify their identity with Bitfinex, the parent company of the payment platform. Once verified, merchants can integrate the Bitfinex Pay widget on their websites. <\/p>\n<p>Paolo Ardoino, chief <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> officer of Bitfinex Pay, described MetaMask\u2019s wallet as a \u201cubiquitous tool in the digital token space,\u201d as evidenced by the protocol\u2019s wide userbase and role in onboarding millions of new users to decentralized finance, or DeFi. <\/p>\n<p>When asked about the future of cryptocurrency payments more <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly, Ardoino told Cointelegraph that digital assets are \u201cgoing to disrupt the current payment industry [by] cutting out inter<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>ries while also reducing fees and friction.\u201d He said that it is \u201cnot a question of if but just when.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>MetaMask has played a pivotal role in bringing new users to the cryptocurrency market. As Cointelegraph reported in October, the platform has partnered with three crypto-focused custodians \u2014 BitGo, Qredo and Cactus Custody \u2014 to bring more institutional capital to crypto. Payment infrastructure is important because it allows businesses to process crypto transactions in exchange for goods and services. <\/p>\n<p>Crypto payments provider BitPay has played an important role in facilitating crypto transactions during the early days of the Bitcoin (BTC) revolution.
