The reality TV mogul and restaurateur is catching heat in all the worst ways this week after coming forward in a political move to oppose the city of West Hollywood\u2019s proposal to raise the minimum wage. And now she\u2019s hearing about her opposition to the idea \u2014 from\u00a0Bravo<\/strong> fans AND from her own employees!<\/p>\n

It all started on a\u00a0Zoom<\/strong> call this week, first shared by local El Lay news<\/a> outlet\u00a0ABC 7<\/em>, during which Lisa spoke directly to WeHo\u2019s city council members about their consideration to raise the minimum wage to $17.64, which would be the highest amount in the country right now.<\/p>\n

The 61-year-old reality TV star and business owner told the politicians:<\/p>\n

\u201cI just implore you to really give this a lot of thought.\u00a0Because I do believe if we raise the minimum wage now, it\u2019s going to be counter productive.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Counter-productive for whom<\/em>, her employees at Sur<\/strong>,\u00a0TomTom<\/strong>, and\u00a0Pump<\/strong> who stand to make more money and have a better quality of life?!?! Or for herself and her biz partner, husband\u00a0Ken Todd<\/strong>, who haven\u2019t exactly\u00a0been that forthcoming about their employees\u2019 wages in the first place?! Just asking\u2026<\/p>\n

Miffed by Lisa\u2019s open rejection of raising the minimum wage, a Pump worker SLAMMED Vanderpump in a conversation with\u00a0The Sun<\/em>. The anonymous, enraged staff member said:<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s a busy woman so for her to take time out of her day to go and fight for us to get paid even less is quite frankly disgusting but not surprising.\u00a0We work for a wealthy woman and to hear her blatantly say \u2018I don\u2019t agree with increasing this wage\u2019 is like a knife to the heart from someone who claims to care about her employees so much.\u00a0None of us feel good about it but that\u2019s working for Lisa for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Wow!!!<\/p>\n

Amid the social media<\/a> outcry that followed Vanderpump\u2019s comments, the Brit took to Twitter<\/strong> late Thursday morning to further address the situation. Explaining she\u2019d wanted the city to implement a \u201ctwo-fold app<\/a>roach\u201d involving a tiered wage system (for tipped and non-tipped employees), Lisa shared in part:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we proposed to the city council was not to disregard raising the minimum wage \u2014 it was to approach it in a twofold manner. 1) to delay this vote until restaurants can get back on their feet during this deadly pandemic, and 2) as Weho is a progressive city, to consider restructuring the minimum wage pay scale so that certain categories of tipped employees (often making $500\/night and often up to $100K per year, far exceeding minimum wage) are not considered in the same class as non-tipped hourly employees who rely solely on minimum wage.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
